Nihil
Actual phone conversation. Me: Do you know how far it is to Redford? Grandma: I think its pretty far, almost to Detroit. Why? Me: Got an invite from a table-top group, but I'm trying to figure out how much of a drive it is. G: It might take you a while. I think there's a lot of blacks there, too; I'd be wary. Me: (Pause) Anyway... *Sigh* I love my Grandma....

Thackerie
Ahhh, the casual racism of the elderly! She probably thinks shes being PC using the word black! Probably. I remember when I was developing into a pre-teen with a social consciousness (early 1970s) my parents stopped using the n-word for my sake and instead started using the oh-so-much-more-progressive term "colored."
