The Newton Of Biology

Robert Rosen (1934 – 1998) was a sometimes controversial theoretical biologist. He has been called by some the Newton of biology and his work has been highly criticized by still others. Personally I find his work to be intriguing and a larger part of me feels that his pioneering efforts hold great promise. I imagine that many of you may have a desire to be on the cutting edge of things. If that is the case then this is probably the best that I can offer. I also highly recommend his books Life Itself: A Comprehensive Inquiry into the Nature, Origin, and Fabrication of Life and also Essays on Life Itself which is a companion book.

For those who may be interested the following link provides some of Rosen’s introductory remarks on theory in biology.
