eel_shepherd
On the Mount of Wherever, when Jesus got transfigured, I can see Moses being there alright. But how did Elijah get invited and Abraham not? Surely Abraham had better coupons than Elijah, what with getting the whole thing off the ground in the first place. Not fair. mwc
Abraham may have been the first patriarch but he's less important to the whole concept of the prophet that Elijah and Moses were by far. Putting jesus in that company makes him pretty darn important (What? You mean YOU'RE as great as those two mighty prophets of old! Wow. I guess I underestimated you and your hokey cult.) It's also kind of strange that they want to build little booths to "worship" them in. Odds are it's just a calendar and this was to highlight the Festival of Booths and someone hijacked it for their own purposes screwing up the original meaning/timing/order/etc. and now we'll never know for certain unless we discover an alternate manuscript. It just seems odd that jesus' life has so many parallels to the Jewish festivals and whatnot is all I'm saying. mwc
