Questions The Wishfuls (and Friend) Skip Over

Recommended Posts

It's gotten rather old how many times all of us have asked questions of the Wishfuls (and their minor friend Mark) that never get a direct answer. So to help us keep track moving forward, anyone wanting to can repost their questions here, can later point to it by number so you don't have to repeat the same question again when in typical fashion it remains unanswered.

Let's get that list going. As new ones come up, just add it here for a reference by number when your question gets skipped.

I'll start:

1. What does Christianity offer to people in this life that no other religion or philosophy cannot compare to?

There's tons more I've asked, but I'll let others add theirs first before I add more of mine.

2. If Jesus is so unique, than why is Jesus so similar to the other gods of that era?

"When we say that the Word, who is the first-birth of God, was produced without sexual union, and that He, Jesus Christ, our Teacher, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven, we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding those whom you esteem sons of Jupiter."

This is why you made the thread, you seem pissed to say the least. Anyways, i'm not totally up-to-date on the debate so can you fill me in and elaborate? Tsh-Tsh Chacka-WWWWOOO! i iz r wapper!

Justin Martyr, First Apology, 21

The church fathers are a fun read. Good old JM here offers up lots of interesting things like:

CHAPTER XXXIV -- PLACE OF CHRIST'S BIRTH FORETOLD.

And hear what part of earth He was to be born in, as another prophet, Micah, foretold. He spoke thus: "And thou, Bethlehem, the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah; for out of thee shall come forth a Governor, who shall feed My people." Now there is a village in the land of the Jews, thirty-five stadia from Jerusalem, in which Jesus Christ was born, as you can ascertain also from the registers of the taxing made under Cyrenius, your first procurator in Judaea.

Of course this "confirms" (I use the term loosely) the time line in Luke and dumps all over Matthew. :( Now the baby killing and all that other crap just cannot happen since Herod the Great had been dead for quite some time (about 9 years? 4BCE to 6CE) and it can't be his son by some "mistaken identity" since no Herod ruled in Judea once the Romans moved in.

We do know that JM, by this "And that these things did happen, you can ascertain from the Acts of Pontius Pilate" obviously had no official canon or we're lacking this text in our modern study. It's ironic that he is accepted into the roots of the orthodox movement when his admitted acceptance of this one text would be enough to place him in the heterodoxy today.

He also says wonderful nonsense like in chapter 63:

The Jews, accordingly, being throughout of opinion that it was the Father of the universe who spake to Moses, though He who spake to him was indeed the Son of God, who is called both Angel and Apostle, are justly charged, both by the Spirit of prophecy and by Christ Himself, with knowing neither the Father nor the Son. For they who affirm that the Son is the Father, are proved neither to have become acquainted with the Father, nor to know that the Father of the universe has a Son; who also, being the first-begotten Word of God, is even God. And of old He appeared in the shape of fire and in the likeness of an angel to Moses and to the other prophets; but now in the times of your reign, having, as we before said, become Man by a virgin, according to the counsel of the Father, for the salvation of those who believe on Him, He endured both to be set at nought and to suffer, that by dying and rising again He might conquer death.

Jesus isn't only the "word" but he's "god's'" apostle, and angel and was the burning bush and just, oh, everything. Those stupid Jews couldn't figure all this out but fortunately the xians are on the job. The funny thing old JM didn't know was that piles of evidence were going to show up in a mere 1900 or so years showing that Moses wasn't real and the Exodus never happened. Ooops. Of course, I guess that means jesus can be anything he wants him to be then (he and Moses can go bar hopping and rob banks since none of it never happened).

Anyway, I'll leave this with chapter 28 since it is really good:

CHAPTER XXVIII -- GOD'S CARE FOR MEN.

For among us the prince of the wicked spirits is called the serpent, and Satan, and the devil, as you can learn by looking into our writings. And that he would be sent into the fire with his host, and the men who follow him, and would be punished for an endless duration, Christ foretold. For the reason why God has delayed to do this, is His regard for the human race. For He fore-knows that some are to be saved by repentance, some even that are perhaps not yet born. In the beginning He made the human race with the power of thought and of choosing the truth and doing right, so that all men are without excuse before God; for they have been born rational and contemplative. And if any one disbelieves that God cares for these things, he will thereby either insinuate that God does not exist, or he will assert that though He exists He delights in vice, or exists like a stone, and that neither virtue nor vice are anything, but only in the opinion of men these things are reckoned good or evil. And this is the greatest profanity and wickedness.

You're not in hell because you're well regarded and every last one that is fore-known to be headed to salvation has to be born. So as the numbers of people of those in the fire keep climbing (after so many centuries) so jesus can get those one or two last souls born so he can return to kill everyone and collect those one or two last souls (?) let's just remember it's because of how much we're regarded.

At this point it's just absurdity as everyone have been asking questions sincerely and directly, and have only ever gotten nothing but emotional appeals in the parroting of the gospel message as a response. People were complaining why their questions weren't getting answered, and I spent a great deal of time tying to communicate with them only to have accusations that I'm trying to make them feel stupid by asking them questions.

So since I see everyone else now asking questions and the responses likewise being left unanswered, I thought it appropriate to centralize the questions in a separate numbered fashion as both a way to refer them back more easily to the question by number, and as a point of illustration of what they are really doing which is not answering any questions. So far in my mind I think the questions are over 100 at this point. This is also in no small way meant as an easy way to hold them accountable.

**As a guideline, we should only post the questions in this thread. Responses or debates should take place in another topic. For instance, new topic: “Response to question #174 to the Wishfuls (and friend)".

#3. Have you proven my, or anyone else's, beliefs wrong yet?

For anyone who hasn't followed that little spat, Wishful claimed that we have to prove their beliefs wrong, rather than them proving them right... so, I'm waiting for her(?) to prove MY beliefs wrong, including the belief that Christianity is a crock of shit. (that and my belief that she's go no fucking clue about the Bible other than the crap she's been drip-fed over the years... I'd love it if she proved that wrong, but she's going all-out to prove it right  )

Oh, Jeez, if we're tallying the unanswered questions, I don't even think they've touched on Hans' yet.

Add to that the glittering generalities they've been asked to explain, such as "atheists are foolish, and buddhists, muslims and (everybody else) is just misguided", and it's overwhelming. As usual, they've been buried and reduced to quoting those "keep the faith" -type bible verses.

I know I have at least 40 of my own, but just the one above will do for now because I'm not feeling that ambitious to dig them all up right now. With Hans' and mine alone I bet that puts them at close to 90, then with everyone else’s we're easily pushing up in the high 100's if not more.

The one thing I can say for these folks is that are most definitely a persistent lot. Ineffective, but tenacious as a little dog "skipper" tugging away at the tug rope with all his heart. Grrrrrrr….. No point in the exercise, but you got to admire the will power, to be sure!

4) If your god is all-powerful, all-good, and all-knowing, why does the world exist like it does and is not a paradise of this god's creation?

Let me explain...

He is said to be all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-good. It is not possible for a being to be all three and for the world to exist as it does or for Xian mythology to be true. If Yahweh were all-good, he'd want the best for the world. If he were all-knowing, he'd know how to make the world the best possible place it could be. If he were all-powerful, he would be able to do it with a mere thought.

However, according to Xian mythology, the devil (the primary author of evil) still exists, and sin does as well. This is not logical, for if Yahweh existed and possessed the attributes Xians claim he does, he would not permit the devil to tempt people into sin and therefore into eternal torment. Yahweh would simply eradicate the devil, thereby eradicating sin and doing away with all possibility that humans could be led astray by this being.

He would also erase all evil in the world, and would have created a universe in which all living beings could exist without having to devour or destroy or displace each other to survive. We all must do all of this to exist; it is not possible to avoid harming other beings. Even walking through some grass squashes innumerable blades of it, and many insects in the process. Humans and animals eat each other, animals and insects do the same, so do animals and insects and plants - and humans again. From the smallest bacteria which must live off its host to the largest whale which devours billions of innocent plankton each day, we all must destroy each other or oppress each other in some form, just to live. According to Xian mythology, Yahweh wanted the world to exist like this, therefore he can't be all good or all-loving and still want all his creatures to devour and/or destroy each other.

Also, Xian mythology itself disproves the god it posits. Again, if Yahweh were all-knowing, he would have known better than to entrust his message of salvation to the extremely fallible and changeable vehicle of human language. He would know that people need to be reminded, often, even of important things. He would know enough to at least show up, in a form that all would understand, and tell us in plain language what we need to do to avoid Hell. If he were all-loving, he would certainly stop at nothing less, if our souls really mattered that much to him, and if he were all-powerful, nothing could stop him - not sin, not the devil, and certainly not any contrived "logic" that Xian fanatics dream up to explain why he doesn't.

He wouldn't permit his message to be translated (and mis-translated) into innumerable versions, and wouldn't beat around the bush with parables and proverbs and conflicting accounts of the life and death of Jesus, his only begotten Scum. He would deliver the message in clear, simple language, without the need to study and re-study and waste precious time trying to decipher it. Humans who want to warn humans of dangers do so in clear, simple language, and don't fuck around. The Wholly Babble is just that - a lot of fucking around.

Also, an all-good god who had moral compunctions wouldn't permit a book to exist with horrible stories of evil, done by the so-called "good guys" like himself. The Babble is rife with tales of murder, theft, rape, and all sorts of evil, done by Yahweh, Jesus, and their cronies. If this god existed, he would be the true devil, not the ambiguous Satan. If Yahweh didn't want to be seen as a monster, then he had all the power to see to it that people presented the correct image of him. He did not, therefore he is not.

Well? :Hmm:

I’ll let you have the last word, Guys. Good job! I’ll be sure to throw my bibles in the fire tonight.

/turn off sarcasm

You guys will never have the last word. That belongs to God. Its funny how you guys can give no scripture response, but when challanged has gone to saying........."read your Bible." Continue to misrepresent the Scriptures all you want guys. The Deceiver and the Spirit of the Anti-Christ is all about that. I believe in love, patience and mercy, but I have no patience for those who continue to mock God and His Word. Hold onto what you want or not want to believe. Thats up to you and I can respect that. I can't respect the mocking, however, or the lies. We didn't seek you guys out, you sought out those of us who are Christians. I will stand by my beliefs on this forum and face to face. Anytime you want a real debate, let me know. Thats not a threat or meant as any personal wrong doing. I'm just wondering who really is willing to stand up behind their words.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: 'Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.'" (Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14)

And I will say it before anyone can post it. If I boast, my boasting is in my God. I have no reason to boast or have pride in myself. But my pride is of Christ and all that He has done.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke any more lies and deception.

Look...let's get one thing straight. Nobody here sought you, or any other xian out. THis is not a xian forum. I never seek out xians, presumably to pick on; it's counterproductive. I respond to you and your kind, and that is all. Once more, for the record. There is no basis to believe that God, Jesus, or Satan exist. And I used to be a fundie, just as you are now, but I'd bet I've been an ex-christian for longer than you've been alive.

No, I for one won't debate the issue with you. That too would be counterproductive, for if you have any questions you can seek the answers yourself, just as we did. Other than that, dialogue is welcome, so long as you are civil, open minded, and refrain from being an asshat.

Now goodnight.

You guys will never have the last word. That belongs to God.

You mean, that storybook god whose existence has not yet been proven? Not what I'd call a talkative chap. Has a lot of people pretending to speak *for* him, though.

I can't respect the mocking, however, or the lies.

That, sir, is slander.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke any more lies and deception.

In the name of Me, I hand you a mirror.

May you put aside what you *want* to be true and what you think you *need* to be true, and practice critical thinking to determine if any of it actually *is* true.

May all your easy answers turn to difficult questions, the kind that faith will not resolve.

May you start to take accurate account of your failed prayers, instead of seeing only the positive.

And may you come to reside in the real world before the end of your days on this planet.

I'm guessing since god hasn't struck any of us dead he must not have heard you... you might want to yell a little louder, maybe he was talking a nap or perhaps he had to go poop. Or maybe...just maybe...you are an idiot.

I guess this stuff is supposed to make us angry but saying things like this just makes you sound like some crazy guy who forgot his meds.

P.S. in case you are too dim witted to get it I was making allusions to a story in 1 kings 18.

Don't bother. They burn poorly. Just put them with the rest of the fiction or recycle them into something useful.

You guys will never have the last word. That belongs to God.

Then that will be both his first and last.

Its funny how you guys can give no scripture response, but when challanged has gone to saying........."read your Bible."

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Continue to misrepresent the Scriptures all you want guys. The Deceiver and the Spirit of the Anti-Christ is all about that. I believe in love, patience and mercy, but I have no patience for those who continue to mock God and His Word.

I've asked this before and will do so again now. Who, and what, are you referring when you mention this misrepresentation of "scripture?" It's a convenient thing to repeat time and again but so far you've failed to back it with anything concrete.

As for the "anti-christ" thing, well, thank you. According to your book I am, in fact, an anti-christ. I deny your christ. I accept the title.

Hold onto what you want or not want to believe. Thats up to you and I can respect that. I can't respect the mocking, however, or the lies. We didn't seek you guys out, you sought out those of us who are Christians. I will stand by my beliefs on this forum and face to face.

I truly doubt you respect our "beliefs" and since this isn't your forum I'm not entirely convinced you didn't seek us out (but I could be wrong as you could have been invited here). I really wouldn't wish to engage you in person based on what I've witnessed so far (I can only imagine the endless spam-ish emails and chick tracks read to me ad nauseum).

Anytime you want a real debate, let me know. Thats not a threat or meant as any personal wrong doing. I'm just wondering who really is willing to stand up behind their words.

Likewise (in case you didn't notice the title of the thread).

And I will say it before anyone can post it. If I boast, my boasting is in my God. I have no reason to boast or have pride in myself. But my pride is of Christ and all that He has done.

How you suffer for your faith Paul.

However based on your performance here I believe you 100% when you say "I have no reason to boast or have pride in myself." Of this you have convinced me. Point to you.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke any more lies and deception.

Ahh! It burns! It burns!!!

We didn't seek you guys out, you sought out those of us who are Christians.

 So let me get this straight... You googled for this board, or followed links, or talked to Wishful, or otherwise found this board and stuck around on your own volition. Then, you signed up for an account. Nobody here had ever heard of you. Nobody made a post such as: "Resqied1, we know you're out there somewhere, and we're blaspheming your god--you need to sign up and create an account to rebut or heresy." No, we were going about our own business, writing our posts, and YOU created an account, started peddling rot and passing judgement. Yet this is us seeking you out rather than you seeking us out!!??? Your claim is as absurd as the apologetic statements from this thread! I for one, would have been none the worse for wear of you had never posted to begin with.

Its funny how you guys can give no scripture response, but when challanged has gone to saying........."read your Bible."

Then let me help explain: your premise is that this contradictory and nonsensical book of fables is inerrant, and although it is you making this extraordinary claim and thus the burden is yours to support it, the bible is conveniently so riddled with errors and inaccuracies that it is convenient, and entirely fitting, to use it to defeat any claims of its infallibility. I would not discredit a medieval medical text and then go on to use that to make arguments about medicine--I'd only reference it to show that the text is flawed. The onus is on you to try to defend the non-sequiturs and contradictions. Of course you can't.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke any more lies and deception.

"In the name of Jesus, I rebuke me!"

No Scripture response, eh? Guess you must have missed the amount of Scripture responses we give to those who ask...
Continue to misrepresent the Scriptures all you want guys.
Hmm... how can we give no Scripture responses, yet manage to respond with misrepresented Scripture? Methinks you've not thought that one through properly.

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, the Scripture we post is as-is... the misrepresenting/interpretation/twisting all manages to come from Christians.

The Deceiver and the Spirit of the Anti-Christ is all about that.
So why do so many Christians who come here do it?
I believe in love, patience and mercy, but I have no patience for those who continue to mock God and His Word.
I guess you have no patience with most of the Christians who come here then, including yourself!
Hold onto what you want or not want to believe. Thats up to you and I can respect that. I can't respect the mocking, however, or the lies.
Why not? It's what most Christians here come out with... they mock, they lie, they twist, they misrepresent scripture until it reaches the point that THEY are denying what the Bible says...
We didn't seek you guys out, you sought out those of us who are Christians.
Yes, because simply having a non-Christian site is just the same as trawling the internet and dragging Christians in... Do you enjoy lying?

I've been waiting more than 3 years for a real debate... yet whenever I try to debate a Christian, they just spew a load of garbage and lies. Kinda like you just have...

I have come to expect no answers from Christians except for:

"goddidit"

"It was (or wasn't) God's will"

"God can do whatever he wants"

That is what every argument eventually comes down to and Christians don't seem to realize that it's not an answer. It's a stonewall, an avoidance of the uncomfortable questions/answers that come if you actually use your brain instead of switching it off at that point.

Hoofprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed

he was walking along the beach with the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed one set of

footprints and one set of hoofprints in the sand: one belonging

to him, and the other to the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,

he looked back at prints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of

his life there was only hoofprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very

lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he

questioned the Invisible Pink Unicorn

about it:

"Pinky, you said that once I decided to follow

you, you'd walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most

troublesome times in my life,

there is only your set of hoofprints.

I don't understand."

The Invisible Pink Unicorn

replied:

"My son, my precious child,

I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering,

when you see only a set of hoofprints,

it was then were riding on my back, stupid."

So far I haven't heard God speak the first words... He never speak.

Its funny how you guys can give no scripture response, but when challanged has gone to saying........."read your Bible."

Wait a second. So far you haven't answered anything to the challenges you've been given. Jerk. And I think it was you who ordered us the read the Bible.

Continue to misrepresent the Scriptures all you want guys. The Deceiver and the Spirit of the Anti-Christ is all about that. I believe in love, patience and mercy, but I have no patience for those who continue to mock God and His Word.

Then you're a hypocrite.

You love when it's convenient. You show patience only when it fits you. And have mercy when you feel like it. You're a bigot.

Besides, so far I haven't mocked "God's word", but pointed out discrepancies, and you haven't answered. You have only cherry picked things you can get upset over. Small petty stuff, that has nothing to do with the serious questions. You're a 99% troll to me, and I'm soon to kick your ass out, unless you step down to human level.

Hold onto what you want or not want to believe. Thats up to you and I can respect that. I can't respect the mocking, however, or the lies.

Then you don't have patience or love. It is in the times when it is hard to show patience where the true patience inside will show. And you don't have it. You crumble under stress and start throwing dirt at everyone instead of answering the questions. And how can it be "telling lies" when we QUOTE THE BIBLE!? If we point to contradictions in the Bible, we use the Bible, and you call those things lies??? I guess you're not a Christian after all...

If we have mocked anything it is you. We mock the stupid fools that think they know what Christianity is about but show extremely poor knowledge about their own Bible. So Mr Resqied (or is it a misspelling of Rescued?) YOU are the fool we are MOCKING!

We didn't seek you guys out, you sought out those of us who are Christians.

What??? You're expecting to find Christians on the Ex-Christian site??? How low IQ can someone have? Is yours in the negative???

What commandments? The one where you're supposed to stone your unruly child?

And I will say it before anyone can post it. If I boast, my boasting is in my God. I have no reason to boast or have pride in myself. But my pride is of Christ and all that He has done.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke any more lies and deception.

:drink: HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Okay, I will prove to you that God does not listen to you...

The sky is green. The ocean is orange. 1+1+1=1.

You see. Your God failed. Your magical wiccan "rebuke" charm didn't work. (You're such a pagan. I didn't know you were into witchcraft?)

-edit-

Sorry, I think it was a curse or a spell, not a charm. Sorry for that mixup. I'm not as good in witchcraft as some of our visiting Christians.

:lmao::funny::lmao:

I haven't heard that in years!!!! Thanks for the memories ! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Agree. That is soooo funny. I'm amazed that someone even could write that. It will put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. I'm surprised that it wasn't accompanied with some tongues too.

Shackabhaya! I rebuke you in the Naaaaame of Jeeeeheeeezusss! Nackibatchihirikiriblobylobby.

This rebuke thing is so much magical witchcraft thinking, and Christians really don't know it. They only need to add a few incantations, charms and gather some black cats, spider legs and the intestines of a rat which died under an oak tree in full moon, and they're set. They got the wand already, even though it's shaped as a cross. And some even use it during their practice to throw out demons.
