Reverend AtheiStar
http://www.malevolentdesign.org/ I'm surprised no one has commented. On MySpace I have gotten a good amount of people wanting to buy it, already, along with a steady stream of praise. The feedback has been even better than I had hoped for! I'd love to hear some of the opinions from my friends here.
Dhampir
It's a very interesting read. Though by interesting, I mean stomach turning It was hard to stop reading, but difficult to get through, but not by any means because it was boring. Made my skin crawl, but I'm guessing that's part of your aim. You might consider toning down the gruesomeness a touch (or not ), but other than that, and perhaps a couple grammatical errors, your writing style is quite engaging, and should have very positive feedback when your book is published. Thank you. Yes, shock value is an integral part of my style. I want to shake people out of their misconceptions and this simply cannot be done by tip-toeing around softly. No, they must be shattered and there's no better way than showing how nature really is, up close and personal! Parasitic anything seems to work, as does anythingh that can eat you. Have you ever seen a bedbug before? I had no idea what one looked like and so I looked it up. Nasty little creatures. Apparently they can go without a blood meal for several months and be ok. Of course, this means that they'll be ravenous when someone happens to lay down in their nest, er, I your mean bed! Think of laying your child down to sleep with these little guys! Sleep tight! Don't let the bed bugs bite!
Evan
Interesting read Not quite the depressing angle of Ishmael Beah's autobiographical "Memoirs of a Boy Soldier," but it sucker punches you all the same. And if you think bed bugs are bad... look at dust mites those things look like the perfect alien invasion model. It's a good thing they eat our dead skin cells littered in the millions around our homes!

One of the more common explanations you'll get from christians in regard to your theory of Malevolent Design, is that it's a result of Adam and Eve's sin, that before that there was no suffering in the world. One of the more interesting things in the chapter was your mentioning male lions practice of infanticide of cubs not their own, when they take over a pride. Considering how much some christians like to refer to Jesus Christ as the Lion of Judah reading that part of the chapter would probably make them recoil in horror. Evan
Now that I have fully read everything I think that it was all very well done. Rasa brought up the adam and eve sin thing... how do you plan to refute that? Great job so far

It's a good thing they eat our dead skin cells littered in the millions around our homes! I've loved the look of the dust mite every since I first saw it in a magazine! They're beautiful, even if they do look a lot like a tick. I can't really be upset about their existence. Their grazers -- like little cows. The worst they do is give people allergies, but that's a pretty small complaint compared to the other insects out there!
Reverend AtheiStar
Now that I have fully read everything I think that it was all very well done. Rasa brought up the adam and eve sin thing... how do you plan to refute that? Great job so far Oh, that's easy, and it really seems to be all they have. First, the punishment doesn't fit the 'crime'. Why punish endless generations of innocent humans and animals for the disobedience of two? That makes him unfair, immoral, unjust, extremely heavy handed and well, psychotically evil. It really would take a psycho to go and redesign the universe down to the atom just to get revenge! Second, theists don't take into consideration their god is supposed to be omniscient. He knew everything his little creations would do an eternity before anything was ever created. How could he possibly be angry? It just doesn't make sense. At any rate, giving a (very lame) reason for such a sweeping vengeful action doesn't excuse it by any means. Yahweh, after that pitiful excuse, actually looks a lot worse, I think! I like it! I had forgotten about that title.
Guest Inch
Interesting indeed. About original sin causing all that, I would leave that out. Christians are quite happy to accept the inheritance of sin as being right and the only way. Instead I'd focus on asking why all these nasty animals and diseases are "designed" the way they are. There is information in their DNA about how to kill, according to ID God must have been the one who put it there ... unless sin is intelligent which is equally stupid. OnceConvinced
Here was me thinking this was a new book. lol. I purchased my copy the other day and have got just beyond the half way mark. Excellent read and you raise excellent points. I will comment on one part i've read so far about how you say that there is nothing in the bible to forbid humans from going into outer space. My thoughts immediately went to the Tower of Babel story, which seems to forbid humans trying to reach the Heavens (God is supposedly threatened by that). If I was a Christian, I'd might use that argument to say that God doesn't want us up there.
