Strange Coincidences

When I received my confirmation e-mail on g-mail, next to inbox in brackets was (666). I thought it was quite interesting re the site asking for confirmation. Not that it means anything, but I was wondering if anyone else wants to share a strange coincidence or occurrence they had.

Yeah, I have a strange coincidence to share. The last person I prayed for died. I'm sure glad god didn't have a hand in that... or did he?

Yes, this is odd... the christians that come here always seem to open "rants" and only that and then wonder why were all so angry.

No, not all do, yes some find other boards, but why is this posted to rants? How is it a rant? Are you ranted because you got the 666?

Totally Off Topic is open to xians right?

Yes, I had this strangest coincidence the other day, there was a knock on the door, and to my surprise there actually was a person standing outside the door waiting for me...

I'm not sure what it means, but I suspect there must be something supernatural about it...

I was driving down the road (true story), and some christian asshole on a bike suddenly appeared from no where. I slammed on my brakes and the rotor broke in half.

Must have been a message that I should have run him over. :pureevil:

You're right; it doesn't mean anything.

Some scholars have recently suggested that the "number of the beast," which is actually a reference to the Emperor Nero, was mistranslated and should instead be "616." If it had been so translated all along, that is the number that would have spooked you because you would have been preconditioned to place significance on it and "666" wouldn't have interested you more than any other three-digit figure. And that's all those eerie coincidences, aka "synconicity," are - placing undue significance on trivia because we see what we're looking for.

Example: I live in the Washington, D.C. area. You may have heard that we experienced a wave of sniper shootings in October 2001. The first reports erroneously stated that the perpetrators were seen driving a white panel truck. Then, to us nervous residents, it appeared that suddenly white panel trucks were everywhere. Well, it turns out they are (and had been all along), since they are commonly used for commercial purposes, but we hadn't noticed how prevalent they are until we started looking for them.

The reason why I originally posted in rants is because the description said that a person can respond to any topic or post their own. I could not find another category that looked like it fitted, so I posted it there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I wouldn't be too impressed by the coincidence of the number 666. 666 actually means nothing...now, if the number was 616.

It was like when me and the Wife sat down and watched that Jim Carrey movie, "23", where he is convinced the number 23 was running his life. For the next day or so, I kept pointing out to her all the patterns that broke down to 23.

666 = 2x3/2x3/2x3 = 23/23/23 very powerful magic going on here, WOOooOOOooOOOO

23+23+23=69, the most hated number in all of religion.

6+9=15, 1+5=6, 6=2x3, and we are back to 23 from a different mathematical direction, making it a completed circle, just like a couple locked in 69. Very mystical indeed. WOOoooOOOoooOO

OR

6x6x6=216

2x1x6 = 12

1+2=3 the Holy Trinity. Did I just equate through mystical numberology the mark of the beast with the God of the Trinity? Oops.

BUT IF:

616 is true:

2x3/1x1/2x3 = 23/11/23 huh?

23+11+23 = 57 ummmm, the number of Varieties according to Hienz?

5+7=12

1+2=3, DAMN IT!! Proved the Mark of the Beast is the God of the Trinity.

Yep, the evidence is everywhere........WOOooooOOOOoooOOOOOoooOOOO

Was not impressed, but I thought it did add some humor to my day.(there is a reason why I say coincidences - they have no real meaning)

I hear you. :) J.

The number 666 was mistranslated anyway. 616 was found in an earlier manuscript of Revelation - which means that God can inspire two unique and conflicting accounts of scripture I suppose.

Since God speaks in mysterious ways that require priests to interpret for you, I wouldn't pay this any attention. It's too blatent a warning to actually be from God. So it must therefore be from the devil, warning you to stay away. Which of course means God wants you to stay here.

And if you reject all of that mr. j, we will make an appeal to faith to you this is indeed the case, even though it should be rejected outright for its ridiculousness, but as the adage goes everything happens for a reason so all you need is faith to make that reason be the reason.

With me on this Anterman? Cause if you are, could you explain it to me?

Keep goin' with this, guys!

I wanna see how many times you can twist this around to where it doesn't make sense (from a Christian™ standpoint) anymore. :lmao:

As long as that reason has God at the center then it will be truth to a heart of faith. It is logical and clear that God is the voice not speaking, and thus is speaking through not speaking, if we listen with the ears of faith and hear him. Is he speaking to us? Only through speaking to mr.j by not speaking to him, and thus is speaking to us through his faith.

Does this help make it clearer?

Hehehe.....Me and a friend saw that, and while we was at Burger King waiting for another movie to start, I took the time to get my social security number, license plate number, drivers license number, and my birth date, with and without the "19" to add up to 23. Got my social security number to 666, but by that time, I was bored with the concept and didn't go further.

Yes, thank you, Mr. Antlerman, that finally makes so many things clear to me. Seriously. All these years I have been trying to twist my brain around those concepts and I never quite made it. Now finally it makes sense. Finally I understand how faith is the "substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"; how faith can be faith even when it's not logical. In fact I can now see how faith can be faith by NOT being logical and NOT making sense and why it would not be faith if it did make sense. It's this mysterious mystical thing that some people like to hold close to their hearts and call god. It makes them feel special to have this thing that is so mysterious, to be able to say they have it and love it and understand it and hold it precious and stake their life and eternity on it. What these people don't realize is that this is a common human experience and nobody has to believe in god or the supernatural to have mystical feelings. "Mystical" is probably the wrong word for it but it's what we're used to calling it.

So yeah, it's a really strange coincidence, Mr. J, that you turned up and stimulated this conversation that taught me all these deep insights right exactly when you did. Because if you came ten years earlier or ten years later I might not have had this opportunity to meet.

A very strange thing just happened to me. I was writing a comment on the other thread Mr. J started. Suddenly I KNEW that Mr. J stands for Mr. Jesus. Yeah, it really took me this long to figure that one out. Now isn't that strange?!?!?!?

OH! OH! I think a nonexistent holy spook it convicting me to believe in a nonexistent god who sent a nonexistent son to die for a nonexistent sin committed by a legendary woman who gave her legendary man a magic apple because a talking snake said it would make her and the man as wise as the nonexistent god who never made them but they existed never the same in the legend that you, Mr. J, believe is true because your nonexistent god says so in the Book of Lies and the nonexistent god cannot lie so the Book of Lie has to be true.

Hmmm. That is all very confusing. I think my conviction is nonexistent too just like the god and holy spirit and jesus.

Oops! I'm sure you're right--I never thought of that. Except a RELIGIOUS joker might call himself Jesus. Because, you know, that kind of joker might give him bad thoughts and he would have to go to hell.

Mr. J, something really strange sometimes happens to me. It must be a sign from dog--I mean god. Yes, just like that. When I want to write dog, sometime I write god. Or when I see god I say dog. That must be because Sparky was kind, loving, and devoted to me just like the religious people say god should be.

Faith-Logic is Anti-Reason, so therefore if it makes sense to your mind, you aren't believing correctly. Simple faith. That's all it takes. Take the plung and accept the light of anti-reason. The Trinity is a perfect example of this, thereby testifying to it's truth. Behold the Truth: 1+1+1=1. 1/3=1 Faith makes the unbelievable, believable.
