I specify that the Religious Studies section is for: Quality religious websites, books, and blogs that help us better understand religious people, their beliefs, goals, and motivations. Given the small percentage of Christians world-wide for whom Rapture theology and Number of the Beast theology is central to their religion, Religious Studies does not seem like the right place for that post. On top of that, the post was blatant advertising of a website. Some people have posted really good solid websites but this one--I evaluate it as one of the most dangerous....here's my response to it: I moved this thread to the Lab. It does NOT belong in Religious Studies where it was originally posted because: 1. It appears to be an advertisement for a specific website rather than general Christian beliefs. 2. Rapture theology and the Number of the Beast theology do not represent general mainstream Christian theology. I deleted most of the OP because the website promoted is a good example of the type of website that will not be tolerated here. It is the very worst kind of evil and most dangerous propaganda of all that fundamentalist religion can impose on gullible human minds. It has nothing to do with a compassionate God and holy living. It has everything to do with Satan and hell and horned devils and an everlasting fire pit if such a thing exists as the supernatural. To counteract this kind of mythology is the very reason for which Foundation for Fighting Fundamentalist Religion exists. Guessing by the way these crazies post on here (exC), they must assume we're all as stupid as they are. So they must think if they can slip something under our nose we'll buy it--hook, line, and sinker--and perhaps we'll end up being saved! Just to be clear, I'm not complaining about having to do a bit of dirty work--I'm fuming at the stupidity of the very stupid who will use what semblance of sanity they have to ensnare and rape the gullible. There is a statement on that site warning parents that it may not be good for kids. I am surprised to see that much decency. But of what does a mind consist that composes such a website to begin with? No wonder they assume atheists must be such horrible monsters. Their bible says so for starters. My guess is, that statement is going to seriously boggle the minds of fundies. An atheist is not supposed to be capable of such insight. It has everything to do with Satan and hell and horned devils and an everlasting fire pit if such a thing exists as the supernatural. And this--this probably will make them spit fire and accuse me of mocking God. Perhaps there will be a brighter one among them who will get a glint of insight.
