Red_Pyramid Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Jhn 15:18¶If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you.Jhn 15:19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.Jhn 15:20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. There is a growing movement of Christian bashing. What's amazing is that praise is given those who bash. One of the justifications is that Christians are getting what they deserve, since they have oppressed, suppress for so long, man's freedom to express himself as he please. So Christians are now held by some as haters. My daughter experienced it in school when objecting to comments made by a Mulsim invited to speak. So much for separation of church and state. She was really distraught because of it. I can still her chilling comment. They think we are haters. My son was challenge in high by a classmate when he called homosexuality a sin. The classmate asked him "why do you hate homosexuals." My son's poster was ripped up, because the poster invited other students to join others in prayer. My son in elementary school was prohibited to reading his bible doing non-instructing, free reading time. He was told he could not bring his Bible to school. Month after month, year after year, more and more Christians are in the news for being anti-society, anti-progress, anti, anti, anti... and are being arrested, prosecuted, presecuted. And many are hailing this as a great thing. Is what is happening and growing worse what Jesus prophesied in the verses above? Is the world extremely close to fulfiling the Revelation of Jesus Christ? Rev 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [i saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Jhn 16:2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. Some would think this would never be the case. What ethics would justify this?
R. S. Martin Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I'm not sure of the point of this post. What is your position, Red Pyramid? I find it hard to believe that there is no exageration. The high schooler can hardly expect a poster for prayer to be allowed to stand in a public school. However, if he was a student in good standing, I cannot imagine him being punished for reading the Bible during free reading period. Perhaps there was stipulation as to what type of literature qualified for that reading period and he neglected informing you of that fact.
Ex-COG Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 It kind of sounds like one of those Christian emails that get bounced around to everyone whether they want it or not. "Flash!!! New persecutions of American Christians by evil-commie-atheist-baby eaters..." Was this a chain email you received, Red Pyramid?

Yes, christians love to feel persecuted. It's predicted in their bible as you see above, and they do everything they can to prove that prediction correct.... even if it is not. The "persecution" they see today is just a backlash from their persecuting others in the past. They are reaping what they've sown. Another version of their "persecution" is when they are not allowed to force their religion in where it is not wanted. They feel "perseucted" because they are not allowed to place their religious icons in our government buildings. This "persecution" is all part of the psychology of their religion.
SWIM Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Yeah, they think the devil has a strong foothold on earth, so its an "Us against satan" mentality.
