PandaPirate
I was raised Christian but turned to Wicca early...age 15 I think...really getting into it in my early 20's. I started going to Church a year or so ago and boy did it screw up my head. I've never had a religion confuse me more than Christianity. The last straw was a few weeks ago when I realized that no God in heaven was going to come down and save me from my self inflicted hell. See, I had a problem with drugs and got into a mountain of debt. I am now a slave to a job that I absolutely DETEST and makes me want to vomit. It's so bad that I can hardly eat. But I can't quit YET. I've got about a week left until I can get out. Problem is...I think I may snap before then. If I go into the hospital I won't get paid and the power gets cut off. So, I'm screwed. And God doesn't care. I know I made a lot of mistakes but I need a miracle right now. I need about three grand to land in my lap in order to save me from this nightmare. Do you think those churches to whom I so freely gave all my money to would help me? FUCK NO. What about millionare Creflo Dollar or Joyce Meyer to whom I so stupidly followed like a sheep? Will they help me? NO! Besides Creflo is confusing Wicca with Christianity anyway. So, here I sit. I am about to read a book called Leaving the Fold and hoping a tornado doesn't hit my house. We've had three or four here today.
1_individual
Hi Panda. You are on your way to/through recovery. Things will get better. There is a lot of serenity that comes from realizing that you are making things happen "for yourself." I too have struggled with the job loathing, now as a matter of fact. But have faith in yourself. You will turn this thing around. No imaginary friend, even "nice" ones could do for you what you can do for yourself. Now you can follow your inner wisdom. Which "Leaving the Fold" are you reading? I am reading the one by Dr. Winell. It has been a lot of help. Treat yourself good. And remember that most of what we fret about never actually happens. South2003
Panda, Weclcome! Another good read is losing faith in faith (Dan Barker). This was the book that lead me out of the cult. I too was in the "fan" club of the TBNs, Crefllo, Junita Byumn, Eddie Long, Myers, T.D. Jakes. Lots and lots of hype and that is how they keep the sheep in order, strip and confused. Yeah, do take care of yourself and live.
R. S. Martin
Over a week has passed. How did it go? Did you manage to stick out your job? Are things better now?
