SWIM Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 When posting your miracles, I only ask that you obey one rule in this thread. That rule is: Prove it was a miracle that cannot be explained by any other means then CHRISTIANITY. Shouldn't be too hard eh? Since of course, jesus said: Jesus said, “as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is close at hand. Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils.†Since disciples can cure the sick and raise the dead, I would like to see some of these "raised dead" and perhaps you could share with us some cured amputees... How bout it? Any takers?
sojourner Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I saw somewhere on here a thread with a picture of a guys foot, I think it was a man that was asking christians to ask God to fix his foot and he would concede there is a God. Sort of the same thing here right only you want others testimonies of having experianced this first hand. I must say I would love to see that too! It seriously bothers me that those of us that claim to be christians for the most part have never had nor manifested thru us a miracle like this. I so want God to show His power in this way. The best I have to offer is that I was a drug addicted alcoholic half out of my mind that in a moment was set free, no withdrawls, no cravings, nothing but free in 1983. sojourner

Yes there is a thread, "put up or shut up" I think, which is an aggressive challange. I *hope* that thread works out, there is an amputee there waiting to be healed. This thread is intend to be a little *less* hardball. Personal, un-provable miracles don't count. Why? Because they prove *nothing* to the reader, only to the *writer*. I am fishing for something that we here on the board can sink our teeth in. You can't really debate or argue science and logic on somebodies "personal" experience. Ever see someone raise the dead? Ever seen an amputee cured? Ever read the scientific studies that prove prayer does nothing? That's the kinda meat I am looking for in this thread, not dribble (no offense). edit: BTW you broke the only rule I listed in the original post...

There is also a website Why won't God heal amputees? About being freed from addiction. There is always the question as to what else was going on in your life. Sometimes we come to a decision that wells up from the depth of our being that SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE. Now! And we make it happen. With or without God.
R. S. Martin Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Oops! Now I see this thread is for Christians to post their miracles and all I did was say they don't happen. Sorry Michael. I did want to give Sojourner those links.

Mythra Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Oops! Now I see this thread is for Christians to post their miracles and all I did was say they don't happen. If the only people who post here are christians, and they have to post real, genuine miracles that can have no explanation other than God - and that have independent empirical confirmation - this is gonna be a really short thread. I mean a really short thread.

It's YOUR goal that YOU worked to meet. I'm just sorry your self esteem is too deficient to give the credit where it is truly due. Think about it. I, the unbelieving heathen, give YOU more credit that you give yourself. I think you are worthy of it in ways that you yourself clearly do not. Why is that do you think?
GraphicsGuy Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Why is that do you think? Because the Bible tells Xians that they're nothing but lowly worms and shitpots and when you're told something often enough you believe it...

Because the Bible tells Xians that they're nothing but lowly worms and shitpots and when you're told something often enough you believe it... That and being "humble" (aka doormat) is set up as a virtue, while pride is painted as a sin. Yet bible believers cannot see WHO this doctrine is really an advantage to, namely those who Rule over those who Don't.
