Myron
I will leave if you all truly do not want me here. I did want to make anyone mad, but I had a feeling I would if revealed my beliefs. But I will never change my thoughts on atheist or agnostics. I will always have an open mind to what they believe and respect them and treat them with kindness, even if they do not agree with me or treat me badly. Ouroboros
Eeh... You haven't offended me. (not yet at least ) I don't mind universalist/liberal/open-minded Christians at all. They're okay with me, as long as they don't expect me to agree to everything they believe it's fine with me. Understand that this website contains people from extremely very different backgrounds and situations. It's like sample set of all personality types. We have the crazy ones, the calm ones, the overly nice ones and so on... So don't take your encounter with some members as the setting example for how all members behave here. And the site also goes in waves, so some members don't show up as often as others. Some you might get along with, and others you won't. I suspect that you actually would be helped by discussing things here. But it takes quite some courage and a tough skin to do so. It's up to you. Myron
I do not want to sell what I believe. I just do not want anyone to force their beliefs on me or make me feel as though my beliefs are not true. I have debated plenty of times on religion forums. This is not my first time, I am used to being disagreed with but I am not welcomed by people on forum, why stay?
Ouroboros
It's all up to you. No one is forcing you to go, and no one is forcing you to stay. The crowed can be quite rough here at times. That's just the way it is.

It's up to you. Yes it does, a very tough skin in fact. Also, some of us try to *quicky* identify motives from new xtians, it saves a lot of time and bullshit in doing so. You do need a bit thicker skin. Only aggressive folks you have encountered so far is me and gramps, there are many more. However, I will back off and hear more of what you have to say. As long as you aren't trying to convert you will likely survive. It should be obvious coming to an exchristian board that there will be "nope, no ways, and BULLSHIT and the like"... You should expect that, at least at first. This religion has caused hurt and anger in a lot here. Being an ex for 30 plus years myself, I see it as plain ole dribble, and try to cut through the masks as soon as possible. Others similar to you have survived here (sojourner is one) so, if you have a thick skin, and interested in menaingful dialoge, it can be done here, but dont expect everyone to be sticky sweet, it's not happening. Kelli
No one is calling for your banning, so why worry? I get a little riled up about things I believe in, take the Ghost thread as a good example. But I don't really care whether people believe the same things I do, I just don't like it implied that I'm an idiot because I do. But I can hold my own and toss it right back. It's all good. Expect disagreement and keep an open mind.

Myron
I am not trying to convert anyone nor am I calling any of you here stupid. I just want to talk and talk only. I do not want to attack others for their beliefs. I just want you guys to understand that not all Christians hate people of other faiths, I do not. As I said before I have debated with many other Christians and atheist and agnostics and I am used to be disagreed with.

Japedo
I will leave if you all truly do not want me here. I did want to make anyone mad, but I had a feeling I would if revealed my beliefs. But I will never change my thoughts on atheist or agnostics. I will always have an open mind to what they believe and respect them and treat them with kindness, even if they do not agree with me or treat me badly. Myron, As to the Agnostics/Atheists We lack belief, I don't know what you can really have an open mind to about that...? To me it's like saying I have an open mind to those who believe in Santa. It makes no sense to me.

Now how can you not have an open mind about Santa when year after year the proof is practically thrown into your face? Even as I type this the stores are readying their evidence. You have a hard heart. mwc

RedPillAddict
Leave, stay, whatever. But, from my experience there are 4 types of Christians that post here: 1) Christians that come here to debate and believe we are going to Hell. 2) Christians that come peacefully, but are starting to doubt their faith, whether they admit it up front or not, and are interested in Ex-Christian ideals(These Christians usually become Ex-Christians). 3)Christians that come here as a type of "spy" to try to find gossip topics for their Christian friends. (Most of these Christians don't sign up for a long time- if at all, they come here habitually to read through posts and project their Christian views onto Ex-Christians). 4) Christians that come peacefully, but no matter how many facts are placed in front of them will never leave Christianity for whatever trivial reason...thus making their presence completely baffling to me.(I tend to think these Christians are really in group 2, but are too stubborn to ever admit it to themselves). I'm sure there are many more types, but this is off the top of my head. The bottom line is that you are here for a reason, whether you are willing to admit that reason to yourself or anybody here is another issue.
