Brother Jeff
I know the New Testament pretty well since I've read it many times over the years, but that's not the case with the OT, and I would really like to learn it - real knowledge, of course, and not fundie bullshit about it. Anybody have any book recommendations? Thanks, and "Glory!"

Guest Marty
"Who Wrote the Bible" by Friedman. Concentrates on just the OT.
RankStranger
I read the whole thing years ago, but seem to have forgotten a lot of it. I've learned/remembered a lot just by tinkering around on the Skepticsannotatedbible.com site, finding funny/disgusting things to post when christians are around. I don't harass Christians around here very much... they've got more than enough company here. I prefer to engage them on forums where the odds are more in their favor... so it at least LOOKS like they have a chance in hell of making a rational point. Heh.
