I mean the word that means to choke a person because it's so stuffy in a room with not enough oxygen to breathe. "Stifling" might be the word you're looking for. I concur that Canada would be a wonderful place to live. And Jillian... When I first arrived in the US, I remember one of the first questions asked of me was "are their cars in Australia".
