We should get t-shirts. Black t-shirts with 'I Bite' on them.

It pays to advertise.

And I think word spread. Locker room talk among the guys at church. :P

It just occured to me that church men don't really locker room talk. Myself and the men I knew were all afraid of our sexuality and wouldn't want to seem like "perverts".

Hehehe...I like it. For some reason I really like it.................................I think you unleashed some new desire in me, Raven...............

Mmhmm, Winnipeg indeed. I'd have to check and see if my girlfriend would lend me out though. ;)

White_Raven, I'm down with the t-shirt idea, for sure. :HaHa:

Damn...my thread turned gay...

Nah....it chose to turn gay.

No I'm sorry, I know there may not have been much evidence in the beginning, but it was born gay.

Face it. I make a lousy non-believer.

I've still never been drunk. I have no desire to do drugs. I don't screw everything in sight. I don't worship demons or crucify cats or do anything to justify calling myself a heathen.

Maybe we could take a moment to clarify the meaning of the word "heathen".

I am a Heathen. A Heathen is not just an unbeliever in Christianity. "Heathen" technically refers to a specific quasi-Pagan group.

There is nothing whatsoever about drinking, drugging, worshipping demons, or crucifying cats that would qualify you as a Heathen. As a genuine Heathen, I am mildly annoyed by your comments. However, I will consider that perhaps you were joking and genuinely did not mean to imply that Heathens are drug-addled, demon-worshipping abusers of animals. I will try not to get offended but would respectfully request that you remember not everyone on this board is an atheist; there are true Heathens here and we are not abusers of animals.

If you would like to learn about what Heathenry actually is, please let me know and perhaps we can discuss the matter.

If you are just looking to be a good Godless Ex-Christian, none of the stuff you mentioned is required. Hopefully you know that and your post was meant in jest. In any event, if you'd like to rebel against the Christian church, you'd have a better start by losing the anti-Heathen talk (I know you probably did not mean to sound anti-Heathen, but it came off kinda bad from my vantage point) and simply crucifying a few Christians? After all, the word Christian originally meant "Little Christ", so what could be more appropriate?

Now I must clarify; you should not actually crucify Christians. That was said in jest. But I do think that we should clarify the difference between a true Heathen and an Atheist. There are a lot of Heathens around and I'm not sure that you actually want to be confused with them, unless you are into dealing with a bunch of old Norse gods.

Sometimes. Other times it just sneaks up from behind.

Okay, I swear a lot. A really fucking lot. But I've met a lot of fucking Xians who swear a fucking lot too so I can't even fucking boast about that.

As a Xian I had one thing that I did really enjoy that I don't have now. Popularity.

First off, have a beer and smoke a dobbie, join fallen, legion and me in poker at night. There, the sinning problem is cured!

Secondly, I fuckin swore all the time as an xtian so that don't fuckin matter! ;)

Popular? You are VERY popular here AND on youtube! I bow to your noteriety!

People liked me. They looked up to me. They came to me for prayer and advice. Tons of really hot Xian chicks paid attention to me. Who the hell wouldn't want that part of the cult back in their lives?

What set this off? Browsing through my cousin's Facebook profile and the photo albums she's tagged in.

One album was of nothing but a Xian retreat and I recognized a fair number of people in it.

It made me wonder if they missed me. Do they know I no longer believe? Do they know how much I would love to beat them over the heads and tell them how retarded they look during their praise/prayer meeting?

If "tons" of xtian chicks flocked to you it was NOT because you were xtian, it was because you were hot in their eyes. Not now? Maybe you lost your confidence? Confidence makes all the difference, women look for strong mates, not muscle wise (well some do) but strong in their mind.

Forget them. You have a new life now, make new friends IMO. I have read some of the comments on your youtubes, and you ARE liked. There are girls here on this board too that I am sure WOULD give you the time of day were you to approach them. ;)

Do they know the shit I've gone through? Do they care?

Do they know I'm dead? That the Mark they knew actually doesn't exist anymore?

But it's not worth going back. Not even for them.

I'd rather be a shitty heathen than a popular Xian any day.

You aren't dead my friend, you have come to life imo.

As far as I am concerned you are a *very* popular heathen, here and on youtube. You are worring about nothing imo, PM me if you want to know where we play poker at, you are welcome to join us anytime. Also, around 7pm ish CST quite a few of us meet here in the chatroom. Give it a shot sometime if you are bored.

peace.

"It really looks silly when you see praise & worship with the sound turned all the way down. "

Why do Christians feel the need to share their armpits?

They need deodorant freely given at the door! I noticed some stinky (wife and I even talked about it) years ago at a pent. church.

Yeah, it might not be an "actual" put-down term, but words change over time. Just like the word "gay" used to mean "happy" remember the flintstones theme? Words change over time. "Gangster" used to be a reference to the italian mafia, now every kid without sense enough to pull up their pants calls themselfs gangstas (same word, just ebonics).

The word "witch" is this way also. That's why I try not to simply take offense but, rather, to engage in dialogue.

I don't want to hijack the thread either. But to the OP, I would say that you shouldn't have expectations of yourself or feel that you have to meet a certain set of standards to be unChristian. The dogma, demands and expectations are part of what we threw out with the Christian religion. Just be yourself and I think you will be fine.

See there, you got great potential. You kinky boy!

Years ago when I was young enough to be kinky(Kinky now is muting the TV) my old man and me got drunk and had wild monkey sex and I let him bite my back and shoulders. I was pretty numb at the time but the next morning damn! Years later he still gets horny thinking about it. :wicked:

Um...yeah...I do apologize, but you did take my OP a little too seriously there. It was mostly in jest. As I stated in a later post I was mostly in a mildly nostalgic mood due to seeing some old friends in pictures.

Plus, I grew up in church. Everybody outside church is a "heathen" to those inside the church. I think the word has lost whatever true meaning it once had. If you call yourself a "Pagan" I know what you're talking about. If you call yourself a "heathen" then I consider it a joke. See? I don't even captilize it...

Well okay, tons was an exageration, but "lots" is accurate...yeah, lets not go there...I'm pining for my lost youth here, okay? Stop trying to encourage me! :P

You aren't dead my friend, you have come to life imo.

[snip] Also, around 7pm ish CST quite a few of us meet here in the chatroom.

The guy I was is dead. That flaky, pansy-assed, addle-brained, sex-starved, half-man, scared bastard that I was is fucking dead. I am not now nor never again will be that fucking moron again.

I have come to life, but as someone entirely new. Xians talk about being born again...yeah, well I've been almost literally re-born...

...sorry about that...guess I've still got some self-forgiveness to work on...

As for the chat...I hit it up a couple of times, but real-time chat has seriously lost it's appeal for some reason. I don't even use MSN anymore...

I hear ya, and understand. I think a distinction between heathen with a small and large "H" is quite reasonable.

Sorry for becoming annoyed; it's just that I often hear people bandy about the word "heathen" without any qualification or real understanding. I do realize that you were jesting; I kinda used your post to make a point.

Sorry about that. I did not mean to crucify you. Wait a second - - what am I doing - - AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

I think most xtians use that "born again" anology in a similar fashion, but it is logical to think that when you totally re-invent yourself. However xtians perverse the anological meaning of "born again".

Hey man, thats a healthy way of looking at things! I kinda feel that way too, the old me has been long dead, so long the bones are dust. ;)

Sophie, I saw your later posts. Just an idea here, your topic about Heathenry (is that correct?) might be a good discussion for the Colesseum or exChristian Spirituality sections. Not that I would be much good in contributing to it...

Since we're on the topic now, my understanding is that the people of the heath practiced pagan religions or none at all. The term "heathen" today generally means anyone outside a main stream religion, including pagans and atheists. Heathen, to my knowledge, is not a religion but a general classification the good, god-fearing folks use for all of us. It is always used by them as a pejorative. Common usage defines the meaning.

I don't think any of those superficial changes are universal by any means. If you really, really want to do something you probably already started doing it before you completely left the church. Hence, towards the end, my weekly 'I've smoked ____ joints, been drunk ____ times and done ____ with ____' confessions
