♦ nivek ♦
The lost first amendmentCounterPunch by Howard Lisnoff "Since the administration of Ronald Reagan, the pervasiveness of the religious wing of the political Right has increased geometrically. George W. Bush solidified the gains of the purveyors of religious intolerance in both 2000 and 2004! The working environment I face in South Florida is a direct result of the destruction of the wall between church and state in the U.S." (05/04/08) http://counterpunch.org/lisnoff05032008.html
Robbobrob
I had a woman tell me the other day, "No matter what you think of George Bush, he is doing the Lord's work." Iraq is meant to bring the End Times. They want it so bad, if they could change the Constitution and keep W in there, they would. It must make the Founding Fathers weep in their celestrial beer when they see how far from Reason and Enlightenment this the US has drifted in the past 20 years. Ouroboros
Good article. I've noticed how TV has become more religious too. This years American Idol is riddled with Christian stuff. They sing about "Jesus" and "you saved me" and much more, and it's starting to get really annoying.

Amazing that something named so blatantly un-christian can do so well with the Jesus-sect. Almost all the Fundie Christians I know watch the show.....wait for it.......religiously. (Oh yeah, I had to say it).
MathGeek
Maybe this the time before the other shoe is supposed to drop. In other words, this may be the last days of Christian exposure before it dives back underground for this particular epoch. I am hoping so, but the last days have been going on for the last 2000 years, haven't they?
Ouroboros
You are just noticing NOW that American Idol is annoying? I like the show, and when they got all religious in one show I thought it was more of a one-time thing, but it's clearly a trend. What bugged me the most was the Idol's Give Back show, because they ended the show with some "glory to God" kind of theme, but yet I know that some of the artists they had in the show are atheists! So basically, they thank their God for money from people of other or no beliefs. It's become a church show. It's sickening. Amazing that something named so blatantly un-christian can do so well with the Jesus-sect. Almost all the Fundie Christians I know watch the show.....wait for it.......religiously. (Oh yeah, I had to say it). Well, I guess it's a matter of marketing. After all the majority in US is Christian, so they aim their content to get them involved. Next will be the news starting with a prayer to Jesus for all the people that got hurt. Maybe ER should have a segment of healing prayers for real sick people, at the end too?
