That's why the countries at the top are all patriarchal.Frankly, that all of the supposed matriarchal societies don't exist anymore SHOULD tell us that they failed in some way that patriarchal societies didn't. There is one advantage that patriarchal societies always seemed to have. And that would be... Although we're still not sure if these idealized matriarchal societies even existed in the first place, outside of primitive bands that were wiped out or conquered because 1) there weren't enough of them for it to be an even fight; 2) and/or they weren't as skilled at the art of organized violence. Also, the Romans routinely kicked the shit out of the barbarians up until the Battle of Teutenborg Forest. And it wasn't because those bad-ass Conan motherfuckers were less macho!
