Gobbler Posted March 6, 2009 Share Posted March 6, 2009 I was watching the Christian Celebrity Showchase on TBN last night. I know, Anyway remember the singer Pat Boone from the 50's? Big-time fundie christian for several years now and he has come out with a new book "Questions about God". Focused towards the college age kids and he is relating on the program this book has all the scientific facts and evidences for the god of the bible and how the bible and jesus are true. Creation is evidence of god he says. There is no denying it! Just read the book and even if you are a skeptic you will believe once you finish this book! Apparently it is that compelling! He spouts off most of the same tired apologist arguments most of us have heard time and time again. He says if you read the book and still disbelieve in Jehovah you choose to willingly disbelieve! I find it fascinating that a book written by a mere man can be so convincing to the "reality" of god while the very word of god, the Bible, can't do that. Interesting ... If the point is to convince nonbelievers, shouldn't they be the ones to say whether it does the job? And yet you never seem to hear that.... I get sick of Christians thinking their some kind of fucking mouthpiece for the Divine Puppet Master. Yeah, just let him reach his hand up your back and pull your... It was all cardboard and construction paper, basically. What always got me was the hair, make-up, and jewelry. I once aired my misgivings about that to some Vineyard people and one of them said "but you see, they're from the South, and that's their way of displaying the prosperity that comes from God..."
