Guest Marty
Soulman, I have a honest question that I hope you can answer for me. What is the soul? It must be dependent on the brain, because if I ram a metal rod through my prefrontal cortex, it will drastically change every aspect of who I am. If the soul is dependant on the brain, and can be altered by damaging the brain, how could it survive the brain's death? And since I am a product of every experience that has ever occurred to me since I was born, when I die, how will these experiences (collectively called "me" or "my soul" for the rest of the post) survive? If I am not merely the result of all of my brain's functions, please explain how I can exist outside of myself. It seems to me that "I" am no more than the net (pun intended) result of all of my neurons firing.
