This is old news that I was unaware of...

When you get to the nitty gritty, the Catholic position is (according to the Catholic web sites and statements) closer to ID than acceptance of the theory of evolution as it applies to the mechanism for change in allele frequency and distribution over time.

 

They are trying to sit on the fence. Sometimes they just emphasize the soul, other times they will make God the Grand Mutator.
