Do Christians Condone Suicide Bombing

Christian theology applauds and condones blind unquestioning faith as is exhibited by Abraham in his complete willingness to sacrifice his own son on God's command and yet when exhibited by muslim suicide bombers is considered evil and atrocious. Christians can't have it both ways either what Abraham did was atrocious and evil or they condone the very ideas behind suicide bombing.

"But it's, like, totally different..."

What are you talking about? Of course they can have it both ways. They've been having it both ways for ages. All they have to do is say that, that was completing different, or that's just the old testament and the faithful will yuck it up, and agree with them, and if a bunch of dumb heathens can't see the obvious correctness of their position that's just because they've been blinded from the truth.

It's only when your actually being intellectually honest that you can't have it both ways.

Guest I Love Dog

Out of interest I looked up a Web site run by a Catholic priest as a specialist bereavement site.

Can you imagine how you would feel as a parent if your child committed suicide and you go to your priest for comfort and he tells you "Sorry, your child will burn in hell forever for committing suicide?

On top of dealing with the untimely death of your child, you then have to wrestle with the thought of your darling one writhing and screaming and burning in hell for all eternity.

I quote:

"We struggled with the subject of suicide and hell for some time. As bereavement therapists, it is our prime objective to comfort the bereaved and give them hope based on evidence that they will be reunited with their loved ones in Heaven. Yet we cannot hide from the truth or the information we have. There are times when this has, in the past, produced conflict. For example, if the parent or loved one of someone who has committed suicide comes to us for help, we really don't want to tell that person that their loved one has gone to hell because they committed suicide - and yet Near Death Experience accounts from people who have committed suicide are far from pleasant or encouraging.

A loving and caring god?

Take This god and Shove It (sorry Johnny Paycheck!)

Christianity sucks - big time!
