Galien
I wrote this poem a year ago about a man who promised me so much, then went away. It reflects the way I have always felt about men since my father left us when I was nine. The curves of your face are etched in my mind The promise of your lips The sound of your voice that elicits such joy in me The touching the knowing the yearning Gone So much easier not to feel So much easier not to expect So much easier not to………….. Gone Ever since the most important man in my life walked away I have not expected any of you to stay You don’t do “stay” You start connections and you start lives And then You are Gone
