ThinkingForMyself Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hi there, I tried going to church again. Don't ask me why. I made a mistake of talking to a pastor and sharing that I have a mental illness. When I asked about going to a home church (small group) I was warned not to because the people wouldn't know how to accomodate me. I then asked about volunteering and nobody responded to me. Are church people really like this? I just wanted to get out and meet some people. I thought the people there were nice. Was I mistaken?
Vixentrox Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Your first mistake was going to a church. Your second mistake was talking to Christians and their shepherd. Your third mistake was expecting some sort of help from them. Much better to find some group or activity that doesn't involve the evil of religion.
ThinkingForMyself Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Maybe they think I'm possessed with a demon and until that demon leaves they don't want me in their church. Whatever, it just goes to show how ignorant and judgmental those people really are.

Whatever, it just goes to show how ignorant and judgmental those people really are. A pastor once quipped that churches shoot their wounded. It's true in my experience, as most xians are totally bewildered by non-conformity.
