Goodbye Jesus

If God Owned A Restaurant Chain...

I was just thinking about this a week ago. There is no "quality control" by the almighty in Christianity (or Islam, etc. to be fair). The public testimony of Christianity is fairly shot due to scandal after scandal, and because of that, less people are open to religion than ever (if you don't count 3rd world countries where the citizens are starving for something to believe in). Even worse, many of the biggest abusers in Christianity are some of the most visible, and they continue to THRIVE. Benny Hinn is a great example, along with countless others, and I'll never forget Robert Tilton (aka, the "Farting Preacher").

Genuine Christians who recognize the problems believe that God will deal with all this on the Day of Judgment, when final justice will be meted out to everyone from pervert priests to that kid in school who used to make fun of your faith. God used to kill people for as little as making fun of Elisha's bald head, or gathering firewood on the sabbath. And he can't even send an occasional lightning bolt down to give people a reason to believe? If God existed, he would not allow the abuses in the church that are commonplace these days. He wouldn't allow it to become the den of thieves that it is, either. Hell, even McDonald's enforces quality control to make sure your Big Mac is up to their low standards for edibility. God can't do the same?

Yep, good post. The lack of quality control amongst Christians is damning evidence that their God doesn't exist. The God of the Old Testament was never one to pander to the weaknesses of human beings. Seeing as God never changes I'd exect nothing less from him today. We should be seeing wayward churches struck with earthquakes and scam preachers dropping dead in the middle of sermons.

Don't forget - it repented-th him, that he made us in the first place. first he tried to wipe us out with a flood - then he decided to kill his only son to save us horrible creatures (that he made ) and now - he's going to wipe out the whole world with the 2nd coming to FINALLY - get it right!

So - what do you expect! I picture someone burning down their own restaurant, 3 times because they didn't plan it right.

 God is like a builder who builds a multi million dollar house, decides he doesn't like the color of the lino in the kitchen, so tears down the entire house and starts again.

It makes 0% sense. With the deck stacked so heavily against Christianity these days, God isn't giving people a fair set of criteria to judge the value of his message by. Think how many people shut their ears based on all the abuses they see constantly in Christendom. If the people who are reputed to be "pillars in the church" are corrupt, where's the evidence for truth in what they claim to represent? How could a truly loving and merciful God expect any unbeliever to "trust" him based on this? To damn anyone for unbelief in this climate would be unconscionable.

And how many people who did trust him, and his 'representatives' on earth, have been permanently physically or psycholocially damaged by their experiences? I wonder if any alter boys ever committed suicide over their molestation. How about people who have been financially scammed out of their life savings on some promise that God would heal them or bless them beyond their hopes? Is it the believer's fault for trusting the wrong spiritual authority figures? Did their "faith" not count for anything? I can't imagine God allowing anyone to get away with this if he were real. If he is real, he could give two s***ts about quality control or who gets swept away by the abuses.

But remember, he knew all about this from the beginning of time! It was his plan! It's just our fault for having free will and choosing to disobey. Nothing wrong with the system, it's always the people's fault. :)

YOu are absolutely right. So he is the builder who builds a multi million dollar house, deliberately puts down lino he knows he won't like, then blames the lino for being the wrong colour and tears down the entire house and starts again.

You got it! Speaking of "quality control" in Christianity, I thought I'd share this exchange I had with another Christian today. They are addicted to sending mass-forwarded inspirational or political e-mails, many of which Snopes proves aren't on the level, lol. Here is today's exchange, mercifully reformatted as it arrived in horrible, oversized fonts in barely visible pastel colors, between 1 and 3 words per line and lots of ellipses in between, and around 20 carriage returns after each micro-point so you'd have time to absorb each morsel into your soul as you scrolled down to the next one, lol.

THEM:

UNTIMELY DEATH!

..... BE SURE YOU SCROLL WAY DOWN TO SEE WHAT THIS MESSAGE HOLDS FOR YOU!!!!

YOU JUST MIGHT BE SURPRISED!!!

I WAS!!!

DID YOU KNOW

THESE FACTS?

I SURE DIDN'T TILL NOW

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

Make a personal reflection about this...

Very interesting, read until the end...

It is written in the Bible

(Galatians 6:7):

'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap.'

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

John Lennon (Singer):

Some years before, during his interview with an American magazine, he said:

'Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that.... I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):

During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency..

Sure, he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):

During a show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: 'God, that's for you.'

He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic:

After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be

With an ironic tone he said: 'Not even God can sink it.'

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.

After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: 'I don't need your Jesus'.

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

Bon Scott (Singer)

The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC.. On one of his 1979 songs, he sang: 'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'..

On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead.. He had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)

In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accom panied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter, holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:

'My daughter, go with God and may He protect you.'

She responded: 'Only if He (God) travels in the trunk,'cause inside here....it's already full.'

Hours later, news came that they had been involved in a fatal accident. Everyone had died. The car could not be recognized

as to what type of car it had been, but, surprisingly, the trunk was intact.

The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs. None was broken.

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)

said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.

In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle...

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

'Jesus' (note from 'Shaken' -- oh, so he's the one who started this chain mail!)

PS:

If it was a joke, you would have sent it to everyone. So are you going to have courage to send this? I have done my part.

Jesus said,'If you are embarrassed about me, I will also be embarrassed about you before my Father.'

'Lord,

I love you and I need you.

Come into my heart, and bless me,

my family, my home, and my friends,

in Jesus' name.

Amen.'

ME:

I love ya, but this is utter crappadungamous, lol. Zoom out and look at the big picture. If God punishes people with grisly, horrible deaths simply for saying things like the Beatles are more famous than Jesus, or that the Bible is the worst book ever written, then why is there 0% quality control in Christianity? Nobody mocks God more than so many of his own 'servants' who hurt and take advantage of the believers who look up to them. Pedophile priests, crooked televangelists, etc. How many of God's people have been severely emotionally and physically abused by Christian leaders who they looked up to and trusted? Then there are all the mentally unbalanced people who also make Christians look like idiots or freaks. What kind of testimony do they give that would lead anyone to believe? Even McDonald's makes sure their restaurants produce a consistent product that (for good or bad) accurately represents what they are selling. God doesn't do the same, and instead we're supposed to believe in the "big payback", when he'll return to mete out final justice to all the wicked in one fell swoop on Judgment Day. Except for these types of stories of course, where we get to see the pettiness and cruelty of God's personality. Didn't he ever hear of "sticks and stones"? LOL...

The same grisly fates that happened to those folks below happens to Christians too, but of course for believers it's not 'judgment' but part of his "plan", which he works in "mysterious ways". :)

THEM:

Hey, it's your eternity...

Gotta love it!!!! :)
