If There Was No Evolution?

Only 60 years ago, we got television. If there was no such thing as evolution, then why didn't the caveman have microwave ovens and a flat screen TV to watch the ball game on Saturday afternoons? Just sayin..............

Back then cavemen had better things to do like chase the females, whack them over the head and drag them back to the cave for nookie.

But then you lot evolved with headaches (I guess that was our fault) so we had to find something else to do.

Aah well, at least we hit you with flowers and chocolates these days. Getting nookie became more expensive

Because they liked their meat charred over a camp fire and the Aztecs hadn't invented the ball yet. God works in mysterious ways...

They should have been able to have sex in the light. :wicked: The power for electricity was there all along....................Why didn't god show then the ability to have electricity.Life would have been so much easier. I wander how many died through the years, because they slowly froze to death..... and yet - we can heat our homes today.

I know - this is a dumb thread...........I'm just thinking out loud.........

In other words, why didn't god endow us with all the knowledge we currently have if he created us? Why did he wait so long to show us the pleasures of kicking back in our comfortable chairs and wasting our time in front of the boob tube much earlier?

Obviously, god didn't want us to have all of these sinful items so he hid the knowledge from us. Television is a direct result of Adam's and Eve's transgression, when sin entered the world. :lmao:

And it's a very good point, Margee, and, I agree, this video says it so well. If there really were scientific knowledge in the bible which discussed things like medicine, germ theory, hygiene standards, purification of water, advanced agricultural methods, engineering standards and the like, that would make a powerful case that a divine being, or at least a highly advanced being, existed. But as we all know, Jesus taught such things as epilepsy and insanity were caused by demon possession. Pathetic.....

So Overcame - this is not a dumb thread after-all? :bounce: Where was god during the times that the knowledge could have been learned at man's early stages?? It would have made life sooooo much easier for everyone! (just like the video says)

Electricity, as we know it, is largely a product of eighteenth and nineteenth century scientific and engineering developments and

is used for heating, lighting and communications and to drive or charge a wide range of machinery, equipment and tools at both commercial and household levels. It is for the usage to make people's lives easier.. ....

Man eventually had this knowledge - but only in the last few centuries???????

Exactly. The things Jesus could have shared with us but didn't. One more I'd like to add to that list. Why didn't he tell us that there are no such things as witches? The number of women, and men too, that were tortured and killed is just mind boggling. He obviously knew this was going to happen but for some reason forgot to tell us.

How convenient.

Fresh out of the garden of Eden, sin had not yet taken hold of the planet on the same level it has today. Steady decay due to the increasing sin factor caused men to struggle and adapt to an ever more difficult environment. Through this struggle, new technologies were born from the fruit of the labor of those still seeking god on a godless planet.

As much as we mock the musings of goatherders, the religious IMO stifled progress. The reason we only evolved scientifically is when the reformation took place, science also move out of the control of the church. I find it hard to believe that folk back then were not as curious as we are. The frigging RCC and their hidden archives and what they destroyed in Alexandra we do not know how this impacted normal progression. The knowledge increase is now exponential and we do not have time to worry about Herr Gott the fucking skyman or his priests in frocks.

The irritating thing is no matter the technology the fucking woos will use it to spread their perverted lies while denying the benefits of science and discovery. Knowledge is eeeevul.

The woos have taken over facebook and are trying hard on the web too. Can you imagine if we invent or discover mental telepathy the xian spam we will have to filter out. Its like frigging white noise, hides the real sounds we should hear.

The sixth of the Ten Commandments is: "Thou shalt not kill.” and yet the church burnt thousands of ‘Witches’ in the burning times.

Of course, we must forgive them, for it is in the bible::twitch:

"Thou shalt not suffer a Witch to live". (Exodus)

We haven't really, fully evolved yet - have we? Just in 1999: Conservative Christian pastors occasionally call for a renewal of ‘The Burning Times’, to exterminate Wiccans and other Neopagans. One example shows the intensity of misinformation and hatred that fear of Witches can continue to generate in modern times. In August 1999, Reverend Jack Harvey, allegedly arranged for at least one member of his church to carry a handgun during religious services, "in case a warlock tries to grab one of our kids...I've heard they drink blood, eat babies. They have fires, they probably cook them..." During speeches which preceded his church's demonstration against Wiccans, Reverend Harvey allegedly stated that the U.S. Army should napalm Witches.(is a thickening/gelling agent generally mixed with gasoline or a similar fuel for use in military operations—primarily as an anti-personnel weapon.) One of the Christian's signs read "Witchcraft is an abomination" on one side and "Burn the witches off Ft. Hood" on the other. (Ft. Hood is a large army base near Killeen TX. A Wiccan faith group is active there.) :twitch::shrug:

Music, schools, theater, books (save for the Bible), newspapers, telescopes, microscopes, movies, radio, television, computers, and the internet: all things invented Satin in order to deceive the faithful from God. Telephones don't count; how else are preachers going to make appointments to minister those escorts?

Seriously.........................Why did I not think of this 'stuff' when I was a christian all those years. Why, is it only occurring to me now......these very silly questions?? We've only had most of these appliances within the last 100 years??

How in the hell did all our ancestors do it?? How the caveman would have appreciated an electric 'blankie' on those cold nights??

Why would a good god not set everything up just perfect for his 'little ones' right from the beginning and say,''OK, guys, the conditions are just right for you to live on this planet I have created, go and have fun now................................

I am such a loser :loser: that it took 56 years to figure this out......................I am almost embarrassed of myself......

I've often thought about this argument against God. You would have to think that if there was an all-knowing all-loving God out there who spent so much effort getting his word down in the Bible, then wouldn't he put SOME tiny tidbit in there that might help alleviate the misery of primitive humans? I mean, how about telling the ancient Jews to wash their hands after going to the bathroom or before eating instead of after touching a menstruating woman? Or how about pointing out that steam could really be harnessed to do some useful work instead of telling people to stone children to death for being disobedient?

No, it is clear to me that there is no god. The Biblegod is EXACTLY what you would expect if you took the men of the time and projected their limited, scientifically ignorant view of the world onto a deity.

I shared in the same delusion. I often wonder how I went so long without figuring this stuff out!

Or you know, perhaps we did - but we quickly covered it up with a "god works in mysterious ways" or other such things. Believers are able to easily dismiss such "trivial" matters. Remember, the bible commends people of strong faith! So dismissing such things is your mind is a virtue! :vent:

Speaking of your first point, I saw this video a couple of weeks ago. I had never thought about the question until I saw this (language warning)

Afterwords I thought "DUH!"

Let's remember, though, that none of these advances, technologies, or changes have anything to do with actual evolution. I'm a biologist, so I have a hard time letting this one slide...!

Evolution is gradual physiological and morphological change in a species over a time period (typically) much greater than the time between Biblical times and modern day. In evolutionary times, humans have not changed since Moses, Abraham and Elijah (not that they necessarily even existed!). Sorry, the scientist in me had to write this.
