Thackerie
"I think the most comfortable place to be is where God wants you." If the bible were true, it's pretty obvious that God wants the vast majority of people in Hell, so I guess that quote comes from someone who likes feeling all warm and toasted toasty.
Thackerie
I swear that isn't a selfie I just hate it when they use cute innocent things (like kittens, puppies or babies) to push their tripe. Wish I could sue on behalf of the cute innocent things that are being so misused.

Thackerie
Wow, this couldn't be any more offensive to all the good people who are suffering. I mean, wow. I think I'm a pretty good person (or at least good enough), and I've had way more than my fair share of bad things, including being crippled by MS and recently having my salary cut to the point where I'm maxing out my credit cards just to be able to buy groceries. So, yeah, I AM offended. But, look at the name of the website where the poster came from -- depravedwretch.com -- implying that everyone who isn't Jesus is a depraved wretch. That should offend everyone.

That should offend everyone. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. That must really suck. I have no reason to think you're not a good person. Unfortunately, in Christianity the belief that no human is or ever has been good (apart from Jesus) is standard doctrine. If you've even thought of taking a piece of candy that didn't belong to you when you were a child, you're a wretched person who deserves to roast forever in hell. I am soooooooooooo glad that I am no longer entrenched in that mindwarped worldview, and I am equally glad that there are plenty of others here who have also broken free from the nonsense. I can't imagine how difficult your life must be, and you certainly don't need to hear some dip-wad claiming that you deserve your ailments. I definitely wish you the best. yunea
Just yesterday I was reading a Pentecostal forum. Someone was claiming that if they think "badly" of anyone for even a half a second, and even if it's "true", the Holy Ghost stops talking to them. ★ Citsonga ★
my fundie friend: Satan is at work on my teeth. I suffered a serious toothache last night due to the cavity. My teeth trobbed pretty much last night. Please pray for me, thank you. No Satan can resisit the eternal power of Lord Jesus Christ revealed in the Cross. (so dentist is a shaman?) :yao: my response: rather than blaming everything on devil, why not start to be responsible? you failed take care of your oral hygiene and now accept the consequences of pain and go to the dentist and have a proper treatment even it will cost you. Pain killer just masking the issue, the tooth decay will continue Out of curiosity, do you know that this person neglected his/her teeth, or are you merely presuming so because of a cavity? I would caution against the latter. Although good hygiene is important and is generally effective, there are people who do a great job of taking care of their teeth and still get cavities, while there are others who practically never brush their teeth and don't get cavities. There's more involved here than just hygiene; people's genetics play an important role too.

So did the Holy Ghost stop talking to Jesus when he thought badly of the Scribes and Pharisees and money changers? He not only thought badly of them, but he verbalized his objections and acted violently in the temple court.

When I was eating a lot of sugar, I had a cavity every 6 months, and 2 root canals in recent years. Since ditching sugar, I don't even need to see the dentist more than 12-monthly, and I haven't had a cavity for 2 years. Also, some medications can cause cavities by reducing saliva production. I've never really understood Xtianity's obsession with its followers being worthless piece of shit sinners that deserve nothing good, ever. It's circular reasoning. The bible says it is true, therefor it is true. So when the bible tells these people that they are worthless, they believe it as fact. Christianity, or should i say christ-insanity, like any other religion is played out in the person mind, not in reality.
Avandris
This makes me so sad, a post that appeared on my Facebook timeline: THIS makes me happy.........found this statement on a Christian school's website......I REALLY like the 3rd sentence. "Bible is recognized as the most important subject, and is required. It augments the study of English, mathematics, history, geography, and science. Without knowledge of Biblical truth, a student cannot be considered educated. The Bible gives direction for this life, and is the only hope for the life to come. No other book can so enrich the minds and hearts of men as ―the Book of books, Knowledge of the Bible is one of the greatest educational assets any person can have, in addition to acquiring moral and spiritual values as a result of its study. Character development is the most important work of a school. No other course offered in the school affords such great opportunities for laying the foundation of Christian character." Penguin
I used to try to defend Republicans/Conservatives. After this morning, NOPE. Not that I think Democrats are any better, but the Republicans can dig their own graves just as well. This morning, from a Republican (paraphrased): Me: I love the smell of the Bill of Rights in the morning. Repub: Me too and the 2nd amendment. Me: You do realize the 2nd Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, yes? Repub: I do now lol guess I'm tired this morning. Me: (Post link providing a list of the Bill of Rights and a picture). Repub: Cool! Thanks for the lesson. Haha cuz apparently I'm not with it this morning. Haha No. You are not tired. That was 10:00 this morning, and you, Repub, wake up at 5:00 to feed your animals, so you are well awake by 10:00. You're just an over-indoctrinated, under-educated idiot. Who the fuck do you think you're fooling? Secondly: I am so goddamn sick of baby pictures. It's something about Fundies and their kids. New parents with their first kid get a pass, 'cause it's new and exciting and your kid is probably actually freakin' adorable. When you're on your sixth kid, I do not need to see three pictures of him drooling on himself and your drivel about "praise Jesus for my lil chubby chunk!"
