"We Can't Have Homosexuals Redefine the Word Marriage!" This from the people who have redefined the word "Relationship" to mean 'Talking to yourself."

If you feel the need to say "I am not ashamed" of your faith you probably are ashamed or sense that you should be.

In honor of all our facebook fundy friends.

Alien, Oh God. Please, Jesus they can't all be real.

(*Please,Jesus- force of habit, lol)

The sodomite dinosaurs, the NASA one, the stupid- it burns.

- the spongebob one has to be a joke letter. Sweet baby Jesus.

On another note, technology is going to improve exponentially - surely in the next 20 years it is going to get harder to believe this shit. But on the other hand , the more like 'magic' science is, the easier it is to believe in magic.

wow you were turned gay. really? lmao that's fucking classic Christian lunacy right there. Even if what she said is true, then her god is a moronic fool for creating plastic in the first place. if god doesn't like people being gay then why would he allow something to exist to "turn people gay?" LOL

What. Wendytwitch.gif

Seriously, I had a discussion with a VERY intelligent, reasonable woman who had read something by some fool who said the earth must be flat because in the bible it says the earth does not move/cannot be moved/has pillars supporting it. It blew me away, this intelligent, logical, sharp witted woman who ACTUALLY was considering he might be right, because the bible says blah blah blah.

Ugh.

Two questions about these billboards and letters signed by “God”:

1) Did God really say that, or did some human just make it up and forge God’s name to it?

Christian damn well know the answer to that first question, which leads to the second:

2) Why hasn’t God complained about humans forging all these messages in his name?

Well, technically 'God" did say that, or rather it's paraphrased from what 'he' said about using his name in the book about him. Even if you look at God as a fictional character, the quote can be attributed to him as a paraphrase of what he said in the scene on the mountain with Moses.

If people can credit quotes to Mr. Spock and Yoda, then they can claim God said things too.

Because a Christian can't forge a message in God's name unless the Holy Spirit inspired them to forge that message . . . unless the message in contrary to the teachings of the Bible because in that case Satan inspired them to forge the message.  God is so cool that he doesn't prevent Satan's free will choice to deceive people into thinking that a message from Satan is a message from God.

Don't question.  Just take it on faith.

Another question: Why is it that so many Christians are completely oblivious to the fact that "god" is NOT a NAME???!!!!

Saying that "goddammit" is taking "God's name" in vain is equivalent to saying that "president-dammit" would be taking "Obama's name" in vain.

When the Bible says not to take the "name of the LORD thy God in vain," the original is referring to the Hebrew name for god, which is "YHWH," which is usually pronounced Yahweh. It's obscured somewhat by how English translations opt for "LORD" instead of retaining the name "YHWH" or "Yahweh," but THAT is the name that the Bible is actually saying to not take in vain.

I have yet to ever hear anyone use "Yahweh" in "vain." Nobody says "Yahweh-dammit." The name Yahweh is practically never mentioned at all in the general public.

Biblegod Yahweh's name is NOT "God" any more than Barack Obama's name is "President."

Once again, Semantics Man comes to the rescue.

People often do say "the President said..." when referring to something a president or former president said. Titles are often used to replace names for various reasons, including quotes.

I've actually heard more people use "Jesus" as a curse, that is taking their God's name in vain. Christians tend to get more upset about that than "God Damn it" or "God" being used as an expression.

Though, I also admit that I've actually used that as a retort against Christians who do get upset about my use of "God" as a frustrated expression. It's incredibly fun to see their faces contort as they try to think of an excuse to justify being pointlessly upset over it.

Well, yeah, of course titles are used when referring to people, but that does not make the titles their names and does not diminish the point I made in any way, shape or form. The command specifically said the "name of YHWH."
