mcdaddy Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 "When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." (Deuteronomy 25:11-12) by the "secrets", lol
London Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Not to go off topic, but I think they stick with the old language so people cannot understand the bible. 11If two men are fighting, and the wife of one man tries to rescue her husband by grabbing the other man's private parts, 12you must cut off her hand. Don't have any mercy. Although "secrets" is way funnier. I guess Victoria is not the only one with a "secret". 3

JoeCoastie Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Not to go off topic, but I think they stick with the old language so people cannot understand the bible. I think that's a pretty good theory. Ignorance has always been Xtianities friend. They at one point only held Mass in Latin. Its funny how KJV Only Fundies are so adamantly opposed to new translations.

There is a Mr Diety episode about WWJD that is quite good. Sorry I cannot remember which one it is right now. Darn.

Written so it's very hard to understand. 1
mcdaddy Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Ezekiel 4:15 "Very well," he said, "I will let you bake your bread over cow manure instead of human excrement. Any guesses who the speaker is??

ConureDelSol Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Such wonderful love and compassion shown by the "all-loving Creator"

mcdaddy Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Exodus 32:14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. if we're supposed to repent to God, then who does he repent to??? and i thought God can't/won't commit evil acts? hm.
London Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Hmmm... it says "thought". Is he guilty of "thought crimes"? God always seemed like a great candidate for Prozac. Back & forth, up & down in his mood swings. Never really having a clear goal in mind. Anyhow, it reads to me like he is guilty of thought crimes.
Pandora Moon Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Leviticus 25:55 For to me the sons of Israel are slaves. They are my slaves whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God So God hasn't really freed the Israels from slavery as they are now God's slaves. Which is pretty darn scary.
