INTP

Some of this profile rang true and some didn't. http://typelogic.com/intp.html <--That was the most accurate one. One of the other ones mentioned INTPs being good at concentrating, since I've been diagnosed with ADD that is far from the truth. I hate math and while I do enjoy strategy games, I mostly like to play RPGs. Two of the careers suggested rang true: Natural Science and Computer Programming. I am currently an IT Engineer where I work and I am working towards a nursing degree and hope to one day become either a Physician's Assistant or a Veterinarian. According to one of the profile things, I'm rare, but I doubt that.

INTJ.

Not only is it common with ex-cers but it seems with the internet in general … which you'd expect because you're sampling people who socialize online and are analytical enough to care to know the results of a test like this. Which isn't to discredit the idea that it explains at least a bit of why Christianity wasn't good for our system (and why it took so long to leave), because I can totally see that.

Hmmm. I hadn't considered the possibility of self-selection bias skewing the results. Good point.

For anyone who dosen't want to do the tedious test (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)

A simple quick version.........It is free......

That's pretty good Margee. With just a few questions it nailed me as INTP, which is what I always get with the detailed Myers test.

I am an ENTJ.

That means I am a wild n' crazy extrovert compared to you boring old INTJ's.

That must explain why it's Saturday night and instead of being out at a Hollywood nightclub partying with celebrities and porn stars, I am sitting on the couch typing on the 'puter to you all about how extroverted I am tongue.png

Selection bias, confounders and extraneous variables! Eek! Oh well, it was an interesting thought while it lasted! smile.png

Still, it is an interesting notion......

INTJ, with very marked introversion and judging.

The "judging" part probably helps with My work in the hospital transcription department, and with planning renovations so that I don't accidentally cut through supporting walls and drop entire houses on My head.

My flavour of introversion does allow for running all around town to community band practices and gigs, making prodigious musical noise with 30 or 40 other people. Just don't expect Me to be particularly good at small talk during the coffee breaks.

I used it Margee, to see how I compared to everyone else- apparently I'm another anomaly: ESTJ. When I was answering the questions, I focused on what I preferred myself, not what I did when bipolar was playing up. But if I did it from the bipolar perspective, I'd probably have a very different response lol. I don't think it completely described me, but it was spot-on in some ways- like how when I fall in love, I expect loyalty and am aware that ups and owns are to be expected, and one question in particular was definitiely me- hating surprises lol!

I did the test

INFP

Hey margee, I am similar. I describe myself as an introvert who has extroverted moments. Overall though I find socializing tiring and I do spend considerable amount of time alone.

but yeah alcohol can definitely bring out the performer in me. so I avoid drinking now.

INTJ, which seems to be very common amongst both former fundamentalists and former Christians that I know of online.

I scored the same INTJ but I am surprised that I did not score as an EXTROVERT which I have always been and WAS MORE SO when I was a christian...maybe we 'have taken a step back' from society and people in order to THINK things through...interesting. My score was highest on the iNtuition and I only scored ONE for judging...still surprising to me.

Well I score INTJ just like everybody else around here. Actually I'm just barely I and only moderately J, so you might say I'm an XNTX or something like that.

According to Keirsey's books, intj is a pretty uncommon personality type. But it seems pretty common on the internet at least. I think we're introverted enough to spend way too much time online... and we tend to take these tests because we like to talk about how smart we are.

Also we NT's often don't think much of authority. We generally go along with it just because it's convenient (and we're not crazy or ballsy enough to fight it like the SP's), but we often don't see it as legitimate. And maybe that's why so many of us are Exchristians.

I just like to talk. Full stop. When there's no-one to talk to face-to-face, I get on the phone until it's too late or I can't find anyone else to talk to, and then I come here. Hell, I talk so much that both cats talk back, and my fiancee has to put the TV on when I'm not around or asleep because he's grown so used to my constant yabbering. Is it any surprise, then, that I dream of becoming a lecturer? Captive audience? Fuck yeah!!!

I came out as an INTJ on this. But in the past, I have been INF/TP. I think that having children and needing to be very organised has pushed me from being a P to a J. And I think that chronic illness has also made me more introverted than I was 20 years ago.

I could see how this would happen. I've experienced the shift a bit myself the last few weeks. Partly I think it's to just cope with the pain or get through the day. And the other part of it is, for me, that there's only so much whinging that you can do before people switch off and no-longer want to hear about it.

That's what I would have guessed- you're a lot like my wife. She provides a nice balance to this cold, soulless intj. wub.png
