JadedAtheist
There are many ways to make me rage and your best bet is to do or say something incredibly stupid. I don't know why idiocy makes me so angry, but it really does. This evening my parents get a call from a relative. The relative can't talk long but says they'll call back later. My parents lost their details. They knew this, they told me this just days before this call. So, instead of asking for the number and telling them we'll call back or just letting them call us back like they initially said they tell them we'll call them back, don't worry. I come home tonight completely fucking hassled to find this persons number. This is how fucked the situation is. Since we haven't been in contact in many years, we don't know where they live, what their surname is (since they've been remarried from rumors we've heard) and the only thing we can go off is their first name. By this alone, I'm expected to work a fucking miracle through the magic that is the goddamn fucking internet. Imagine trying to find your relative "John", using that as your only search term in Google. This is how much of a fucking joke this is. I am raging so hard right now that I am having trouble thinking clearly. I don't really give a shit about this whole situation (as in if we get in contact with this relative) but the opportunity of a fucking lifetime comes and you kick that cunt away, and make sure it never, ever fucking comes back again. I swear to God man, the stupidity of the action is so intense I feel like I will die from the amount of frustration I am undergoing. Anyways, rage over. Feel free to share your rage stories.

Vigile
I hope this doesn't come across as holier than though, as clearly I'm not. I don't rage any more. I used to and I noticed that when I gave in to it, it is hard to sate. It just wants more. I get a bit irritated by stupidity; particularly when it comes in the form of black and white mindsets. But I've learned how to be a duck in life and things just slide off my back. I've used my brother in law as a good model for this. The guy has so many pressures on his life and yet he is always calm and optimistic. He's also the most successful person I know so I can at least reasonably assume that his approach to life has some tangible benefits. Personally, I'm much more content now than I was a few years ago and it would take a lot to really get my goat in a meaningful way.
Zephie
Things that piss me off: 1. Getting bitched at because I didn't tell my mom I am going into work early 2. Customers calling in fifteen minutes before close wanting to order parts then bitching about the fact that I cannot overnight them because I am not the parts person. stryper
Soccer Moms in Lexus SUVs that drive like the world revolves around them, and all the other peons on the road don't matter. Repeatedly doing the same thing in the same way and expecting it to work different this time. Bank customer disservice.
jackbauer
Christian bullshit. Some stuff makes me rage so hard just because it reminds me of some of the stupidity of fundamentalists. For instance: Authoritarian personalities: The type of people who cannot or will not question the rules or allow for any exceptions. If you dare question a rule, even if you have good reasons for doing so, they accuse you of cherry picking the rules to "suit yourself". In other words, don't question, shut up, and accept what I have to say. Sound familliar? Another thing: Arm chair psychologists: I don't like being told that my problems are all my own doing. You don't know me, so stop making ASSumptions about someone you don't even know. Again, does this sound familiar? As for stuff unrelated to Christianity, I got a couple Job Applications: The ones online can take up to an hour to fill out. I'm applying for a minimum wage job, not the FBI! And WTF is up with those personality assessment questions?! Being held up: Especially if it's by oblivious people who are completely unaware that there are other people waiting to be served. Just yesterday I was in a store, wanting to make a simple purchase, but ended up waiting 5 minutes. Why? Because the idiot lady ahead of me was too busy yabbing on to the cashier. There are so many little things that hold us up that the add up to a great amount of time wasted. And that's time that I won't get back. I have a lot of things that piss me off. I think I'm a rageaholic.
par4dcourse
The idea that running the government "according to gods will" is popular even in direct defiance of the US constitution. All our woes would be solved if we elect someone who hears and obeys voices in his head. Heads up to my Canadian friends. If a religious right nut wins the white house, anybody got a spare room? blackpudd1n
Ineptitude. Which for some reason goes hand-in-hand with arrogance. Calls from my aunt. No, I don't give a shit about my psychopathic mother's miserable existence. And yeah, I'd appreciate you not telling her about my life. But I know you're fucking well going to. Going to put my foot down one of these days once and for all, and stop this shit.
JadedAtheist
I hope this doesn't come across as holier than though, as clearly I'm not. I don't rage any more. I used to and I noticed that when I gave in to it, it is hard to sate. It just wants more. Yeah, I've learned not to feed my rage. Had this happened a couple of years ago, I probably would of been yelling and frothing at the mouth. Now, I isolate myself from others and try to focus my thoughts elsewhere. If that fails, venting online works Luckily it happened late last night so I hit the sack early so I could sleep it off. The problem is with my personality, it intensifies my feelings by 9000% because I just keep mulling over the situation and the thoughts and feelings associated with it. Kurari
I don't rage as hard as I used to, but I get irritated by folks who have to play "White Knight" over pointless things. It's another form of being a drama-llama. Christians are experts at this. They desperately want there to be trouble so they ride in with righteous indignation as a warrior for God. Like over gay rights. It's really very pointless, but they WANT gays to be these creepy rapists that will destroy their kids lives, just so they can play paladin for Jesus. It's unreal. Or Pro-Liars and their crusades to save fertilized eggs at the expense of other people's lives and families. So, yeah, White Knights make me rage.

Galien
Selfishness. People who cannot and will not see past the end of their own nose and try and tell me that is how we all should be now. Drives me around the fucking twist and makes me want to reach for the nearest wooden spoon. People who cannot bear to hear anything negative about themselves. Harden the fuck up pussies and face reality. Another wooden spoon job. People who think they know the contents of my heart and mind better than I do, because something they have heard before sounds vaguely like what I said. Pass me the small thermo nulcear device on that one..... But I am quite placid until provoked, really I am.....

London
Life is too short - you understand when you are older. Sure I get enraged for a little while. It passes. There is a definite rage/age ratio. Yes, I choose the "pick your battles" way. I have also moved closer to the other end of the spectrum. When stupid happens on a paramount level, I completely unplug and erect steel walls. I have no time for that anymore. I can cut people out of my life so fast. Life is too short to waste on stupid. I would rather spend time with great people.

Galien
being treated with condescension by medical personnel and psychotherapists That is pretty much a given. Didn't you know x amount of years at university gives you the right to talk down to and judge people wiht mental illnesses? Makes you wonder what ever hapened to their concept of there but for the grace of god or whatever go I. They don't even seem to have enough intelligence to realise that these days.Nothing more wonderful than the human propensity to want to be superior, even it is to people unlucky enough to be dealt a mental illness in the sick lottery of life. Pathetic fuckwits.
RankStranger
Like Vigile, I've definitely calmed down now that I'm past 30. But one thing that I just can't get past- that gets me raging pissed-off every time- is people who STOP at the end of an on-ramp onto a busy highway. Jesus fucking christ, people... that is NOT how you 'merge'. Grow a pair, match traffic speed, and get the fuck outta the way!
RankStranger
being treated with condescension by medical personnel and psychotherapists +3. It amazes me that doctors take offense when I research my problem before coming in. I go to the doctor for advice and a sign-off for prescriptions... not for some revelation handed down from on-high. Seems like a god-complex is the norm among that crowd.
Vigile
My experience with docs here in Russia is completely different. My general practitioner even went out of his way to find and take me to a specialist (5-6 kilos from his office) and went with me on each visit; all for free. When he makes me wait 5 minutes he is overly apologetic. The god complex definitely hasn't made it's way over here yet.

I'm normally a nice soft spoken somewhat timid person, but when I get behind the wheel I turn into an angry swearing person who is incredibly pissed off that this goddamn fucktard thinks it's ok to merge onto the freeway going 40 fucking miles an hour and then when it looks like he's about to get pummeled and rightly so by oncoming traffic he has the fucking gall to BRAKE. LIKE A LOT. Learn to bloody drive you incompetent moron before you get the rest of us killed. /rant Whew, that felt good. ireckinso
Traffic is one of those things that pisses me off. Apparently here they make all vehicles like nascars, no turn signals. Icommon' really is it that hard to extend your little finger and flip the freakin lever up or down????!!! Or How about when you are driving down the road trying to get somewhere, no one is behind you for miles, and a car hurries to pull out in front of you only to drive 15mph under the speed limit. Or someone passes you just to slam on their breaks and turn or wait to turn!!! One day I'm just going to drive my 35inch tires over the top of them and play a little monster truck! Positivist
Injustice and cruelty. I've learned to, instead of screaming for hours into a pillow, take action to improve the world even in some small way, like walking dogs at the animal shelter or starting an advocacy group. Dogmatic beliefs with no basis in reality. I marvel at the hold delusion has on people.
Cryptic
I just saw this post today on a different website and a part of me inside just hit the rage button. Brothers and sisters, start learning to say "Bah humbug". Stop lying to your kids about Satan Claus, you give glory to some pagan Ideal instead of tellign them th truth, you may think it is "just for fun" but our King frowns on worshipping and celebrating that which is not of our Father. I don't know why, but when I saw that I was like "you're fucking kidding me, right?" I think you all know why. Other then that, I don't rage often because it's trivial. The stuff that would get me to rage though would be: 1) Assholes who cut you off on an exit ramp cause they are too impatient to slow down and get behind me. 2) People who talk on their phones when they drive, especially cops. 3) People who think they know everything when they know nothing.
