Goodbye Jesus

God Looked Out For Me After All

i'm so excited, not even a whole 2 weeks after got fired i got another job. earlier this week another retail store called me in for an interview and earl this morning i got an e-mail from them saying to come to orientation next week. this was truly a blessing. now i hope u all don't get upset with me for still believing in god, but u gotta remember in my last post i never said i stopped believing, i was just confused why i was going through a job loss. and it turns out i was right, that was just one of godms mysterious ways because the job loss led me to a better job. and for more evidence that this was a blessing, i've also startes to associate with some new people which is a indirect result of me getting the new job. not only that but a grocery store called me later on in the week for an interview. i don't know if i will be able to work the grocery store job as a 2nd job because of my schedule at my new job but i'm good either way because i still have a job. plus i really donmt wanna work 2 jobs anyway but the purpose of that other interview was for god to assure me that he is real and good people who are strongly dedicated to fight for world peace will not suffer

this all was no coincidence, this was god playing a role in my life. don't get me wrong, i'm not hear 2 look down on u all because i know some of u are emotionally scarred by religion or some of u just have a tough time believing in the amazing power of god. and i know that it takes some time for some people to follow the ways of god. i'm also not claiming that god is real simply because he gave me such a great blessing. i've been seeing god work in other people's life as well. the main reasons i believe in god are 1) the complex nature of the earth and universe 2) morality has no

true meaning without heaven and hell 3) common sense

i hope this story and other spiritual people stories of blessings inspire all of u who still don't believe

I have moved states three times in the past 4 years. Each time, I miraculously secured a solid job with perfect timing before I had to move.

And guess what? I didn't pray or ask God for any of these things.

So does God still have a soft spot for me since I left the fold, and likes to throw a bone my way every once in a while? What gives?

RULE: Good things happen to all people, Christians and others. It is not God's providence when they happen.

Bad things happen to all people. It is not the work of the devil when they happen.

1) Thanks for not "looking down on us". Why would you ever be in the position to do so anyways? What makes you think you would ever have any "higher moral position" with which to look down on anyone anyways? Because your such good buddies with the One "True" God, and instead of helping people with real problems (rape victims, hunger victims, abuse victims etc etc etc) he decided to use his unlimited power to procure you a job quickly? It would have happened if you hadn't prayed.

2) Yeah, the amazing power, like the power displayed in Judges 1:19? Sheesh. He sure is flippant and unlogical with the use of that power.

3) Heaven and Hell werent even concepts that existed in Jewish thought until at least 500-800 years after the first writings in the bible were written. The jews by and large get by without any concept of heaven or hell. And thats the foundation for christianity. Morality has nothing to do with any kind of afterlife. Morality = the golden rule. that's it.

4) Its common sense NOT to believe since there is no evidence. you need to look up the definition of "confirmation bias".

Ironically, I prayed for three years for a job, applying every single place I was qualified for, waiting for God to bring me the right job, and here I am today still jobless...KatieHmm.gif

You're blessed by god? Wow, you're soooooo special. Too bad the starving, and/or physically, sexually abused kid(s) in your town aren't so blessed.

So, what advice do you have for TotalWreck?

Seriously, Ronin, enjoy believing that random events are connected. It's a cheap buzz but it's a buzz nonetheless.

Congratulations on getting another job quickly.

The notion that a god had anything to do with it is, of course, crap.

I, an atheist for the past 33 years, have never been unemployed for more than a week or so at a time because I'm good at what I do and have a great resume. I suspect the same is true for you. Give yourself credit; imaginary supernatural thingies don't need or deserve it.

Since you seem to be on god's good side with him helping you so much, perhaps you could put in a good word for this child:

And I have a special anti-corrosion undercoating to sell you for it. And special sealant for the road surface. You'll need 'em both.

i can't explain why children starve, women get raped, or why so many people live in poverty. all of these events does not indicate that god isn't real. the fact is, people will not have any answers until the afterlife. i want to politely ask how does suffering in the world prove that god isn't real? it seems to me like thats only an assumption. but if there is proof that suffering indicates that god isn't real, i would like to hear it

The burden of proof lies ON YOU to prove God exists. Not on us to prove he DOESN'T exist. Thats like saying unless I prove invisible pink unicorns dont exist, they do.

You're right though, the problem of evil doesn't disprove God. It only makes him look like a giant turd. If you're all good, and you know in advance what will happen, why would you create something if theres going to be so much suffering inherent in it? a good being wouldnt do that. would you create a son, if you knew he would be enslaved and tortured his whole life? or would you just pull out?

How does your getting a job prove that god actually helped you get that job?

Woo hoo! Retail, the sector that employs millions of people and pays the lowest wages. Sucking Jesus cock really paid off for you this time.

Sorry to anyone here working retail. I did it for 9 years, so I earned my right to make fun of it.

OP believes because he/she wants to believe. That a shitty job in retail is all it takes to retain faith is proof positive.

Mcdaddy is right. However suffering does disprove the idea that there is a God who is all knowing, all powerful and good. It's called the Problem of Evil and it is iron clad. Nobody has found a way out of it and philosophers have been debating for years.

So either God is ignorant, God is powerless, God is evil or God does not exist. Take your pick.

When some kid gets run over and killed by a car either God didn't know it was going to happen, God couldn't stop it from happening, God doesn't understand why this offends us, or God couldn't care less about the child, the child's parents, family or friends.

Isaiah 45:7 "I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things."

Not a Christian concept, but it's still in their Holy Book. It's just another concept of God that is pretty much ignored.

Am glad you got a job, but am sorry to see you giving God credit for it. I'd hate to think that Almighty God is so picky and choosy on who He blesses.

vigile, it would be real funny if u call out for god while a demon is shoving a flaming knife in yo ass when you're in hell. what u said was completely uncalled for. i never insulted u or any other non believer on this site

I'm trying to inject a little sanity here with a wee blunt response my friend. You should expect no less on a site labeled x-christian when you publicly leap to such silly conclusions.

yo, you're wrong. the burden of proof does lie on u. u made the claim that god isn't real, so therefore u need 2 prove it. god has revealed himself 2 me and others through meditation. he tries 2 reveal himself to everyone but some people reject him. if u wanna reject god thats yo choice, but that doesn't mean he isn't real
