older
This article about Christian sex counseling appeared in our local paper yesterday. I can’t think of anything that has done more damage to the human sexual experience than Christianity and other Abrahamic religions. This is so preposterous I can’t even think of a way to respond. http://www.fresnobee...w-creation.html
mymistake
I think it would be fun to troll it. le me: "Yes I'm having sexual problems can you help me? I have this irrational fear that I'm being watched by someone who can see through walls. And I think he is getting angry at me every time I have a sexual thought. And the weird part is I think he made me this way." le Fundy analyst and therapist: "Well let's pray to Jesus about your problem . . ." le me: "That's the guy! That's the guy who's been watching to see if I have sex!" Oh that would be great for youtube.

Akheia
The guy in the picture in that story is seriously weirding me out. Christian men seem so beta, so weirdly emasculated and asexual to me anyway, but anytime a Christian gets super-hyper about sexual purity, don't we all kind of brace ourselves for the inevitable scandal coming from his church? Stamps1962
Hmm....that reminds me of 'Puritanic Laciviousness'..... I have always loved that word. It sounds so, well...dirty. As in 'Lewd and Lacivious."

Agreed with the creepy. That is not the face of a man who knows a lot about sex.
London
I too am awaiting the scandal. What is this crap? http://www.fresnobee...l#storylink=cpy Pornography is a multibillion business that affects seven out of 10 Christian men and three out of 10 Christian women. According to Relevant magazine, 80% of single Christians are currently having premarital sex and many of them are having children and abortions. Sexuality is the biggest issue facing our culture, and New Creation Ministries has a healing message for those who have been hurt by its misuse. Sooo... 7/10 & 3/10 xians are being forced to watch/view porn and that's propels them to go out like zombies and have sex and abortions? I hate this doubletalk crap. And if people were educated about sex, maybe people would not be "misusing" it. What ever that means. I think this guy is just running a porn ring and he writes scenes based on his clients experiences.

Akheia
It's interesting that he considers "misuse of sex" to be primarily having out-of-wedlock births and abortions, which aren't traditionally men's concerns. Also it's interesting that by his own admission, 80% of evangelicals (I'd reckon the number to be way higher, personally, but whatevs) don't actually believe in their own faith's threats of heaven and hell. If I knew for 100% sure that sex would land me in eternal torment, you can bet I'd be avoiding it like the plague! The sheerest proof that Christianity must be false is that its own members display by their behavior that they know, deep down, that it isn't true.

Statement of the year! This one gets pasted into my favorite quotes collection. Thanks, Akheia.
