blackpudd1n
Nothing annoys the shit out of me more than the current situation I am in. A bit of background, first: My in-laws have been having a drama with their electricity account. They changed companies for a better deal, and then their old company offered them a even better deal if they went back. So they decided to take them up on the offer. That was back in November. I currently have two upset and stressed-out in-laws, who are being told by the company that they want to be with that they have requested the transfer of the account four times, and not heard anything back from the other company, and the other company is saying, no, they never, ever requested the account transfer, we've been waiting for them to do it. It became a he-said, she-said bullshit thing going on, and each company was saying different things, F.I.L. got so upset he was swearing his head off, M.I.L. stressing fucking big time, so I got involved, and took it to the Ombudsman, because it was just going around and around in fucking circles. And then, like ten minutes ago, when i'm in the middle of something else, 1am in the morning, it fucking hits me: the names on the accounts. F.I.L. has the account in his name at one company, M.I.L. has the account in her name at the other company. That's why the fucking transfer isn't going through!!! One company is asking for an account to be transfered that is in M.I.L.'s name, which the other company just does not have, because the account is in F.I.L.'s name!!! That's it!!! I worked the problem out! Except... IT'S FUCKING 1AM IN THE MORNING!!!! I can't fucking call anyone, or do anything about it, at this hour of the fucking morning! My brain is nothing but a fucking TROLL!
stryper
Happens to me all the time when I am trying to figure the SAS code to do something. Though I am usually in the shower.
blackpudd1n
Happens to me all the time when I am trying to figure the SAS code to do something. Though I am usually in the shower. This is the reason sometimes I stay up all night. I work out the solution to a major issue, and I get fcuking pissed off because I can't do anything about it!!! older
Nothing contributes to insomnia more than thinking in the night. Too bad the various off switches for the brain also come with negative side effects.
Astreja
I have a different kind of sleep-disrupting problem. Music... Specifically, earworms on steroids. I play in 2 community bands, 1 on Wednesday night and 1 on Thursday night. I take clarinet lessons on Monday after work. At any given moment I'm preparing no less than a dozen pieces of music, and even when I'm doing something else (for instance, typing this post) I can hear one of them playing away in the background of My mind. I just got back from a gig about an hour ago, so right now I have the concert band arrangement of a Bob Hope medley playing. A few hours ago it was a track from the MP3 player I take to the gym, "Fly" by Blind Guardian. And who knows what'll come up in the shuffle when I lie down and try to sleep... At least you get music you like. Only the worst, most annoying songs will get stuck in my head. Eventually, I will start singing them... and then, they will be in my fiancee's head, and he will hate me for it. Guaranteed every time: only the worst. blackpudd1n
Oh, and an update on the situation: Made some calls today, and it turned out that I was correct. The problem was the account names. The company that my in-laws want to leave are going to request that the company that they want to be with move the transfer date back to November, so that then my in-laws will not receive a bill from the company they don't want to be with, and instead get one from the company that they do desire to be with. After months of my in-laws stressing, that's all the issue was. Brownie points for me!
stryper
This is the song that never ends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it because..... This is the song that never ends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it because..... This is the song that never ends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it because..... okay I'll stop now.

My man's been telling me all the goss about Diablo 3 lately (I wish they'd just give a fucking beta key!), and he really likes the idea of playing a Witch Doctor. And every time he says "Witch Doctor", this song comes into my head: A-hem *clears throat*: "I told the Witch Doctor I was in love with you (ba ba bump), I told the Witch Doctor I was in love with you (ba ba bump), And then the Witch Doctor, he told me what to do, he said, Oo-Ee-Oo-Ah-Ah, Ting-Tang, Walla-Walla Bing-Bang, Oo-Ee-Oo-Ah-Ah, Ting-Tang, Walla-Walla Bing-Bang! Oo-Ee-Oo-Ah-Ah, Ting-Tang, Walla-Walla Bing-Bang, Oo-Ee-Oo-Ah-Ah, Ting-Tang, Walla-Walla Bing-Bang!" And it goes on, and on, and on...
Blue elephant
Happens to me all the time when I am trying to figure the SAS code to do something. Though I am usually in the shower. Good to know there is another SAS coder on Ex-C! I code in SAS as well (about a database of people who use homelessness services). I still prefer the old SAS coding to the new SAS EG stuff. ireckinso
I unfortunatly get stupid commercials stuck in my head. This was one from childhood which plagued me for weeks. Still remember it. Mon Chi Chi, Mon Chi Chi, Oh so soft and cudly, With his thumb in his mouth he's really neat, Mon Chi Chi with the little feet, Ya-ya-ya, Ya-ya-ya, Happy, Happy Mon Chi Chi!!!!! "We love you Mon Chi Chi!!! Lately its been the one from the Car comercial where the guy has a little head on a long neck sticking out of his back singing. Its supposed to be his confidence coming out since he used a web site to compare cars. Ooo Baby I want that car, Hey, baby I really want that car I will stop there because if I continue it will be in my head again and I just got it out!
