Mike D
We were wrong, Christians are right - there really is a hell! This weekend I started the process of going through mountains of paperwork trying to find the receipts, bills, etc. that I need to do my taxes. I spent 4 hours on this yesterday, and another 2 hours today, and I can honestly say it was like being tortured. In fact if I had a choice to either go to the dentist for a root canal or do my taxes I would rather go to the dentist. Once I had as much of the paperwork that I could find, then I get to input it all into a spreadsheet I made last year, which I thought would make things easier. I did make it a bit easier but not by much. The worst part of this whole thing is that I am going to owe a boat load. So I equate this to being beaten with a baseball bat, and then having to pay my attacker for the privilege. Honestly if there really was a hell all Jesus would need to do is force me to do taxes 24/7 for eternity - I can't think of a fate much worse!
freeasabird
Several years in a row my wife entered our info into the turbo tax free edition before going to our accountant and every time we came out ahead with the accountant by well more than her fee. Even if it were a break even I'd still go to her.

Deva
Its unbelievable to me that after taking a salary cut such that I am making less than half of what I was in 2010, now on top of it to add insult to injury, I owe the IRS! I did it three times because I simply could not believe my eyes. I used to be able to come out better doing the itemized deductions but now I have paid my mortgage down to the point where it isn't enough to make any difference. So much for paying your bills and trying to do the right thing!!
Positivist
We were wrong, Christians are right - there really is a hell! ~~~ ...I equate this to being beaten with a baseball bat, and then having to pay my attacker for the privilege. LOL!!! Me too! I hate it! All I have going for me is that I'm organized, and all tax receipts go right into a "current income tax" file. We file online, so that helps the pain. But I must say, it is reeeeaaaally awful when you have to pay. You are not alone, friend!

Haha this must be our ENTJ personality coming through Well it's good to hear all you guys are going through the same hell. At least I can say I finished the paperwork part. Now the next step of the torture is to meet with my accountant so I can sit there for two hours while she goes though all this crap and I get to see how much i'll get screwed out of. Ugh, I HATE this!!!
