Blatant Lies

"I'm not judging you"

"I'm not here to convert anyone"

"I'm not trying to preach"

BULLSHIT!! That's exactly what they are doing. They think that just because they say that they're not, it automatically makes them not judging, trying to convert or preach. It's just as much as a lie as "I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you!". You'd think they'd be honest about their intentions, but I guess if they were, they would be showing the true colors of their beliefs.

Christianity is a two-faced religion, that's for sure. I don't think I've ever been in a conversation where someone says "I'm not here to preach..." and then they DON'T preach.

I remember saying the same things. *facepalm* So true though...so fucking true...

They think if they couch everything in saccharine language, they'll seem loving and win people over, I know this because I was trained in evangelism classes that I should focus on "loving people into the kingdom," which in practice usually amounts to no more than wheedling, saccharine language and dopey smiles.

It's okay, I'm sure we all have at one point.

Well all of morontheism is about appearance for lack of content... of course they think that using sweet words will make the meaning of their babble all good and noble.

But then they pile on the guilt.

Another spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down lie is:

Love the sinner, hate the sin. Truth is, they are compelled to hate those who are not like them and whose lives fall outside of a few narrow confines. Yet it sounds so pompous and at first blush looks almost generous. Not.

Love the sinner, hate the sin - Completely CHAPS my ass. I better never hear that phrase again. What they really mean is: Love our self-righteous belief system, Hate what we don't understand.

What would they think if we said:

Love the Christian, hate the Christianity??

It's interesting - it's like they think by saying those things, they become true, regardless of their actual behavior.

And when they do those things, they insist they are only communicating what is written in the word. They are not judging. It's so much subterfuge.

So agree on this one. I think it sums up the whole religion.

Whenever I hear this I think, "don't turn your back on this person or..."

Yeah, and I always hear from Christians that you can't say you "love" god or someone unless you show it through actions. Yet when it comes to Christians conversing with non believers and other struggling Christians, they will talk down to them while covering it up with sugary bullshit.

In fact, it was always that way with God. It's nice to hear about how much God or Jesus loves you, but from what I hear about judgement day, hell, and all the suffering, it sure doesn't feel that way. How is it fair that we, the finite humans, have to show our love to God, who already has all the power he needs? Why does God even need us to obey his rules (many of which don't make sense)?
