Celsus
Because he was so anti-women, I have to ask, was saint Paul a closet homosexual? A gay guy? 107484 Who knows? But based upon his writing, it would appear to be more logical that he was gnostic and his sexual attraction to women turned him off. Homophobic males usually are men with homosexual tendencies and hate gay men. I would think Paul's polemics argue he was repulsed by his sexual attraction to women and in the mindset that women corrupt men, hated them. I Broke Free
Because he was so anti-women, I have to ask, was saint Paul a closet homosexual? A gay guy? 107484 Most gay men love women as friends. I think Paul was just impotent.
Vigile
I just want to know what sin he kept committing over and over when he stated "I do what I don't want to do..." (Rom 7? - lazy to look it up).
Taphophilia
Romans 7:15: For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. I think he patronized prostitutes. I really do think he was. This was something that was very, very common for men to do since prostitution was considered a valid profession for women. Which would explain his attitude toward women. He seems to regard marriage as a contractual type of relationship, not really a romantic type relationship. He thinks you don't get down and dirty with your wife.
Foxy Methoxy
I think he was a woman hater. There's also an old church tradition that he was a dwarf. There is that one story in the Bible about him being lowered down a city wall in a basket in order to escape persecution.

He thinks you don't get down and dirty with your wife. Never thought of this before, but I don't see Paul being a very romantic guy. I think he was too busy with preserving Judaism before he commenced establishing Christianity to give much thought to romance. We've all wondered what his "little problem" or "thorn in the flesh" was. But I don't think he was gay. At least, my gaydar does not sound when I think of Paul. -CC in MA

mwc
I made an argument a year or so ago that Paul was gay. I'll have to see if I can find it. I do think he was a self-hating homosexual. mwc

Mongo
Wasn't Paul's view of woman merely in keeping with the cultural view that men were head of household? Regarding being gay... I tend to see Paul as merely a maniacal leader who eked out as much dedication to his cause as was possible. Since frivolaity like getting laid/married interfered with Paul's goals, I can easily see why he would admonish his minions to leave women alone in the name of heavenly reward. (The cheque's in the mail) Is there any real evidence otherwise? Reguarding the bad habbit, I bet it was whacking off. Mongo

roman
Because he was so anti-women, I have to ask, was saint Paul a closet homosexual? A gay guy? I read Paul as a woman-hater also, but I don't think this is cause to think him gay. Modern gay men do not hate women, and I think the culture of his day viewed them more as chattel. Of course, there is no way to know any of this with any certainty. I believe the more salient point is that he was a politician and a power-broker. This was his real reason for inventing Xianity, in my view. Your mileage may vary. The tired old Hellenistic attributes he gave to his man-god are the real reasons not to believe that any Jesus ever existed. If you look at this religion objectively, it's really piss-poor. He could have done a much better job. But his objectives were short-run power drives to regain Palestine and have a hand in running the place. Kind of like George Bush, only smarter. Concerning the thing that he did that he hated, I believe he may have been visiting the temples of Molech and having sex with boy prostitutes. That's just a wild guess. Even then, he would have hated this about himself because he was doing things "that the Gentiles do." These ancient Hebrews didn't really hate homosexuals as modern Xians would have you believe (my view, anyway). What they hated was the straying away from ritual purity and doing things "that the Gentiles do." Well, I don't know, but he sure did do a lot of traveling around with Barnabas... And Barnabas was a hot young cutie, like woodsmoke. How could he resist getting a leg up over him?
Brother Jeff
I doubt that Brother Paul was gay. After all, he had a hard time kicking pricks! Acts 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the flat earth, I heard a glorious Sky Voice speaking unto me, and the Magic Sky Man said in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Toxic
Some Fundies I know reckon Romans 1:27 prophecies AIDS. Maybe Paul was a homosexual who hated what he was. I mean, you know what they say about homophobes....
Ramen666
Paul is a funny guy, I honestly don't know why Christians follow his works and they do not realize they are worshiping Pauls teachings. ( Another issue) I have many conspiracy theories about the Bible that I have thought of. However the Paul is gay one I have to admit that is pretty good theory. There are several clues to this (mentioned above)
Clergicide
At least, my gaydar does not sound when I think of Paul. This topic is funny, because mine actually did, but it's been so long since I've studied Paul I can't remember which verses made me question his persuasion. LosingMyReligion
Being gay doesn't make you a misogynist. It is quite the opposite for me. I love women, just not in "THAT" way... As for Paul I actually think he might have been gay. However, due to the old testament, he would not act on his desires. Infact, he avoided sex and sexuality at all costs... Plus he could have been impotent.

There are several clues to this (mentioned above) I have disagreements with Paul about several social issues (e.g., the status of women, homosexuals and slaves just to start), but his theological writings are inspiring to me. I've always enjoyed reading the epistles attributed to Paul more than reading the gospels. Not at all that I dislike the gospels, but I'd rather take all four of them, melt them down, and re-string them with all the redundancies and repetitions left out. -CC in MA
chefranden
I think that the Ted Haggard example of heaping vitriol on homosexuals helps support the idea that Paul was gay.
