I strongly suspect that the Big Bang is Buku Bullshit.

Yeah, I am agnostic on that whole "first cause" thing.

To use a tired line from the apologists.....I Have never seen anything look better AFTER IT WAS BLOWN UP".

They kinda have a point......

time

Precisely. What is time?

Do contemporary physicists think they actually understand it?

I strongly suspect that the Big Bang is Buku Bullshit.

He said in the video that there are no working cosmologists who don't agree the universe started in a singularity. The big bang is not an explosion. It is an expansion of space-time itself from a singularity.

No, that is unacceptable to me.

You say, with an air of certain authority... "The big bang is not an explosion. It is an expansion of space-time itself from a singularity."

I assume then that you claim understanding of time.

Please explain YOUR understanding of time to me.

I'm no physicist, but it seems like time would just be an illusion, or the description of a series of events unfolding.

Like the "time" it will take me to finally let go of my last hope of a Creator....like Legion suggested...."time" is an illusion.

TIME is just like a ruler, a yardstick, any unit of measure. Humans created the construct of "time" to be able to explain events in nibbles...chapters...minutes....whatever you choose to agree they are.

The problem that I have believing that there is no FIRST CAUSE (God, Creator, Divine Watchmaker) is that there is always a FIRST CAUSE. Even physicists agree about that. An object at rest will stay at rest. So what created the object, and what caused it to begin evolving (or moving)?

So to answer your question, dear Legion, the "time" it will take for me to give up on a Deity of SOME form could be measured in any increment you choose. Time is relative ;)

If time were a real, physical thing. Then somewhen you are all still believers and I'm still a creationist. All events through time that ever occured would still have to be occuring somewhen.
