You do realize the only people I am aware that make black and white thinking art form, are christians and people with borderline personality disorder.

You ain't the arbiter of truth hon' but Christians believe that God is and that He left us an instruction manual.

Feel free to provide objective evidence for any of these claims you make. Until you do you don't know the truth.

Christians, why do you pretend to be interested in people who show an interest in Christianity but then "dump" them when they won't subscribe exactly to what you believe, leaving them hurt and bewildered with an assurance that never again will they check out Christianity?

People are fickle and don't follow Christ's leading. It even happens within Christianity. I went to a new church at one time and a certain lady maybe thought 'aha, a heathen to convert!' When she realized I was already Christian she did not bother with me. I was thinking that was not very nice. If I was weak in the faith that would have discouraged me.

Would this count as no true scotman? Or is is just another example, of how, something that is supposedly of god, is still incredibly destructive.

Hello sweetie pie! biggrin.png

Sweetie, don't bother with those atheists and their philosophical mess-- no true scotsman--pfft!

People are a mess that's all I'm sayin'. We all may not sin alike but we ALL sin.

Sin - what exactly is this sin you refer to?

Please excuse me for answering your question with a question but what did you believe sin to be when you were a Christian?

That's not answering my question - but no surprise since as I said Christians never answer questions they don't like!

I'll try this again, what is a biblical definition for sin? You said previously that I was not saying anything you did not know already so ...

Who said that God's purpose is to make you happy? God wants to give joy to His children and if happiness comes with it then so be it.

God works with paradoxes, He increases by dividing, He died to reproduce etc.

what joy does he want to give us?

C'mon now that's 2 questions are you going to give me some answers?

The peace that passeth all understanding of course but you know that already.

The MLM analogy is a good analogy in terms of the relationship of structure.

Let's look at this scenario:

You meet some friendly person on a bus. He tells you how happy he is and how great his life is going. With a great amount of enthusiasm he invites you to his church. You are curious as to what all the hype is about. Maybe there is something to it.

"We don't expect anything of you," he tells you. "Just check it out."

Once you foot is in the door the start delivering the doctrine to you bit by bit. You go through a baptism and/or some ceremonies to demonstrate that you are part of the group. Then you find out that you are expected to donate money -- perhaps 10% of your income to this church. ANd most of all -- now that you have received this free and wonderful gift of God's loving embrace, forgiveness of all your sins, true freedom from the bondage of this fallen world, and Jesus' saving grace -- share it! Give it to others so that they to may be as happy and free as you are! It would be downright selfish of you to keep it all to yourself. Go get more members.

How does that benefit you? It doesn't. It benefits the leaders in the church. More followers = more money for them. You do all the foot-work and the get all the money for your work.

This is exactly how MLMs work.

Who said that God's purpose is to make you happy?

Irrelevant. But clearly Jesus Christ came to Earth and died on a cross so that televangelists can own great big homes, drive cadillacs and hire lots of prostitutes/molest losts of underage boys. For that is the result, the fruit of Christianity. You shall know them by their fruit.

God wants to give joy to His children and if happiness comes with it then so be it.

God works with paradoxes, He increases by dividing, He died to reproduce etc.

Empty words with no foundation.

I know you don't need Jesus or the Holy Spirit to have the "peace that passeth all understanding". It's a mental technique not unlike the meditation in other religions and philosophies. Christianity borrowed many themes and methods from other religions, including pagans.

In a Christian mindset anything that is not for God is against God and it can be by default.

...

Satan means adversary and Agi was being uber blasphemous. Relax sweetie pie, I'm telling you Agi has a pretty good sense of humor, he's cool.

The Bible says that God is not mocked. Yet we see God is mocked. Thus we know the Bible is wrong.

It is written:

Ecc. 8:11

Matthew 12:36

I'm just answering you with the quotes but I do wish you all well.

OK, I'd better stop teasing you.

Actually you are not answering. You are distracting away from a topic where you are wrong. It won't work. Gal 6:7 states what is not true. The Bible is wrong. We can see God can be mocked. There are millions, yes literally millions, of examples of God being mocked. Yet there are zero, yes literally zero, examples of objective evidence that shows God exists.

The correct conclusion to draw from this is that we have no reason to believe in God and the Bible contains misinformation.

The Bible teaches that Satan is the god of this world. Looking at the world at present time, I would say more people are under the influence of Satan than under the influence of God.

And they are having a damn good time! Being under the biblegod's influence makes one a stick in the mud. Some would rather not be the stick, so they take a stick and shove it up their ass. Influence aside, The biblegod won't deliver on his promises until after we all die. So he gives Satan all the blame for his own failure to deliver happiness and prosperity for his chosen in the here and now. But Satan delivers the world to anyone who desires to enjoy it now! What a cool dude Satan is! He doesn't threaten us! Instead, He throws a party for everyone! Woot!

Goes to prove my point. More people are under the influence of Satan than that of God. Our albino ape friend here is a prime example.

lol, that is funny. Agi, I like you but this comment is still funny.

Well that proves alot about you thumb, nothing good.

Agi's a pretty good sport, he could take a sassin'.

Well you find disrespectful inhuman drivel funny and moral, that was my point....nothing good.

Did you read what Agi wrote? How is it disrespectful if you say Satan does not exist, huh?

He was saying the story makes no sense, agi I mean.

Jay on the other hand said agi was under the influence of satan. I don't know about agi, but I find that incredibly insulting. Even though satan doesn't exist, to be what one might call "of a idea of evil" is insulting.

In a Christian mindset anything that is not for God is against God and it can be by default. Satan means adversary and Agi was being uber blasphemous. Relax sweetie pie, I'm telling you Agi has a pretty good sense of humor, he's cool.

Instead of cutting up all these quotes, I'll add to the bandwidth by leaving them in(sorry Mods!). All this concern for me is going to make me cry! But seriously, Valk is correct in that JayL's comment WAS very insulting. But I found his serious delusion quite funny. I don't expect anything different, since he's following the N.T.'s disrespect of any dissenting opinions. Hell, disagreeing with the Plan gives one the label of "Apostate". So, as an Apostate, my comment was sarcastic blasphemy I was playing my assigned role, and JayL was being a good little self-righteous Christian.

Thumby is now officially The "Sassinator". Though you are not being a good biblebot when you sass.PageofCupsNono.gif Don't let me get Florduh to give a a good spankin'!

I wasn't personally offended by his offensive remark. I just recognize condescension when I read it. I don't expect respectful commentary, but it is funny because it's so immature.

I don't like drama. I like adventure, romance, comedy, and action!

In the OT, I don't see much in the way of gambling this life away for the promise of payoff in the afterlife. The hebrews didn't have such an emphasis of having faith in God, but rather having obedience in God, and if they did, the rewards or punishments were quickly delivered. Why the sudden change in the NT to the emphasis on faith and the by and by? In my view, it is nothing more than an excuse for the religion holding no water.

@Chikirin - I think it has to do with the increasing dualism popping up in that part of the world when the basic concepts of Christianity were getting cobbled together out of the cultural miasma of the Near East/Mediterranean. Body/physical being = bad. Mind/mysticism = good. Intentions and thoughts became far more important than outward shows of faith. And they were a lot easier to sell. Having to chop off a bit of your penis and buy livestock to sacrifice to priests? Expensive, painful, and gruesome. "Just believe and you'll be saved" -- even Gentiles could get into that. The idea was to get them into the right mindset, then introduce the more advanced requirements like behaviors (again, like an MLM).

What's funny is that deep down we know that it's all a sham. Christians act worse than anybody else, especially in the South where divorce, violence, and sexual sins abound. It's very easy to pray or say you believe, but a lot harder to actually act right.

She realized I was attending church regularly so she sent me a note asking me to go in front of the congregation to do something. I wrote her back and told her I was shy and do you know she ignored me completely after that? One day she put her daughter to perform a piece by Chopin. That lady was after vainglory. I once saw her on a bus and she was wearing a fur coat (maybe faux fur) and I was wondering how come she was on a bus with the hoi polloi. I later told my mother that I saw "Chopin" on the bus. Hee hee, I gave her a nickname, now I don't even remember what her real name is.

Thumbelina, your commentary on this woman and her daughter clearly shows your true colours, and those colours are various shades of gangrene-black and shit-brown.

You are a disgusting, judgmental, superstitious turd. You have no fucking right to criticize a woman for what she wears or what form of transportation she takes, or her motive for allowing her daughter to play a piece of lovely music for a congregation.

I wish upon you the total and catastrophic ruin of all that you believe. May you have nightmares of rending your precious god into very, very small pieces, and giggling hysterically as you do it. May your days be filled with the knowledge that there is no paradise waiting for you after you die.

But most of all, may everyone you know in real life see you for what you really are, and retreat to a safe distance until you are free of your delusions and your shameful, condescending attitude.

Until that day, Thumbelina, I'm done with you. No apology will be accepted.
