owen652 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I am tempted to point out to my sister, who gave this mug to my 12 yr old daughter as a present, that this 'uplifting' verse was basically god telling Joshua to be brave and courageous when he went in to murder and rape everyone... don't know what genocide has to do with owls.
Moderator Margee Posted July 14, 2012 Moderator Posted July 14, 2012 This is the thing about 'cherry picking' scriptures out of the bible and then making thousands of dollars off that mug!! I paid $25.00 for a coffee mug one time at a christian store with a so-called, 'uplifting' scripture on it!! It was an OT verse also, about having the 'patience of Job'....
lunaticheathen Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 $25 for a coffee mug? ANY coffee mug? Gods, it better magically turn coffee Irish, for that fucking price. 4
Akheia Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Wow. I missed my calling. Clearly I need to get into selling Christian gewgaws. $25 for a coffee mug is legalized highway robbery.
Lilith666 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 What a shame...it's an adorable cup. Scrape the verse off somehow and paint over it. Wait, that might damage the cup. Oh well. Don't let your sister see it. Does she know you are anti-X, and still gave that to your daughter? Wow.
owen652 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Does she know you are anti-X, and still gave that to your daughter? Wow. yep. that's the point, she is trying to get to our kids since their parents are obviously too far gone. the verse on the cup was read to my daughter very solemnly. they tell us that she keeps asking them about church n stuff. luckily neither of them are interested (my youngest daughter is great, she just says 'i dont wanna go, it's soooo boring').

Is there a limit to people's nerve? Guess not, if they're doing it for X.
