Christians Blaming Non-Christians For All The Problems In The World

It's only now that I can see that Christians do this ALL THE TIME.

Christians who would like to understand how offensive this is need only think back to times where Muslims have told them that the reason America is messed up is because it doesn't follow Allah.

Christians - you are acting exactly the same way as the Muslims.

My gay uncle was pretty exhausted after causing Hurricane Sandy.  I haven't caused any natural disasters yet, but I'm sure its hard work.

Xtians see through a glass darkly. Not only that, the glass they see through is a microscope. Accordingly, they see only a microscopic piece of the world darkly.   bill

It's extremely offensive. They don't like it when you point out that they are contradicting themselves though. I said something along the lines of "I thought your god is all powerful?" Got a lot of crap for that. And then when they said "He chose to let it happen to show us that we need to come back to him!" I said "He sounds like a real peaceful, loving guy" or something like that.....they didn't like that either.

Of course, it's pointless, they refuse to see it.

I agree with you here, but when you were a Christian, would you have been able to see your point? I don't think I could have, and I was not an evangelical.

Oh heavens, no. I'm sure I would have come up with some non-sensical argument in defensive of my god

When the gay marriage thing started being an issue a few years ago, I was still a Christian, but I was in favor of allowing gay marriage. It just seemed obvious that if Christians want the freedom to live their lives, then they need to let other people live theirs, even if they don't agree. Then I'd get Christians coming back at me with "God's word is clear, are you on God's side or not" and I realized they are doing exactly what the Muslims do - forcing whole societies to follow their respective holy books. Point this out to them and their response was "their book is wrong ours is right." But they missed the larger point that perhaps holy books of any kind should probably NOT be used to base laws.

More likely they would have to give up their current lifestyle. Kinda like denying you have parents therefore you can party Get plastered & stoned without repercussions. If you could live a life of crime knowing you would NEVER be held accountable would you? The answer is YES.

True. My actions are limited because I do believe in a God and fear hell. Wise words mr Casey.

Ironic that the Bible describes the christian journey to enlightenment through the truthful metaphor that they do not see reality in its true completeness :D

Yep. Dr. James Douchebag's latest gem is that gays and abortions caused the Newtown tragedy.

They love to point the finger...

doves, goats, lambs, first born sons, anyone else.. as long as they don't have to look at themselves or actually, you know, DO anything.

scapegoating is their entire psychology.
