Llwellyn Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Basically, we've got to fear the one who is the greatest threat to our welfare. Don't fear someone who can simply kill your body. Instead, fear the one who has the power to kill your body and then kill your soul. The question of "Who shall we fear?" is a question answered by an observation of who is the most powerful. The Bible makes the factual claim that Yahweh is the most powerful: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28. That is a factual claim that is susceptible to scientific proof. So, I would like to put the question to you all -- what evidence is there that Yahweh has more power than me? What evidence is there that he has more power than Allah? Satan? Zeus? If you found that Yahweh is indeed the most powerful person that you know, then would you redirect your fears if a more powerful person showed up on the scene? What if you met someone who could kill not just your Body, and not just your Soul, but could also kill your Spirit ?!?
mymistake Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Oden is more powerful that Yahweh because Oden eliminated all of the Frost Giants but Yahweh loses if the enemy has iron chariots. 2
◊ crazyguy123 ◊ Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 You have more power than Yahweh because you actually exist. 4
Astreja Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Oden is more powerful that Yahweh because Oden eliminated all of the Frost Giants but Yahweh loses if the enemy has iron chariots. Not to mention that Dad can also get a lift in Thor's iron chariot (or My wheels, for that matter -- Mine isn't powered by dual Flying Goats, but it was enchanted by a Japanese wizard named Toyo-Ta and is much less conspicuous in the parking lot.) 1
Llwellyn Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Yahweh is completely impotent. He cannot lift up the smallest stone. Why? According to the Christians, it is because he is showing great patience with the Vessels of Wrath. Sounds like a cop out -- an excuse for why he is not showing power and will not show power in the future ... until he will. "What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction?" Romans 9:22.
LifeCycle Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 He can't kill my soul as I've seen no evidence to the support the idea that I even have one of those. How can you kill that which does not exist?

Maybe Yahweh's just too busy roasting sinners like marshmallows and polishing the weapons he keeps in his arsenal of wrath.
Llwellyn Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Christians must conclude that Yahweh does not display a single watt of power on planet earth because his power is being expended entirely in the world where humans without Christ go after they die. He is displaying his power by working on them there: "The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him." Deuteronomy 28:20
