stryper Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Well, that escalated quickly. I don't understand your comment.
Denyoz Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Yup, school was like that for me. But then I met Jesus. Who was not there.
Rek99 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I was bullied occasionally throughout school. Not to the extent that many are, but it still made a big impact on me. I play a lot of online games, and the person I'm playing with/against is a real person. Judging my the amount of bullying that goes around online, I'd say that this fact is lost on most people. I play MTG at local shops, and those people go home just like I do each night. There are several people who have weird ticks, talk funny, or just don't look like most people. Knowing how much of an impact bullying made on me makes it so much more meaningful to go out of my way to be nice to those around me. Take the time to self-reflect and ask if there's a reason you're treating someone the way you are. It can make a huge impact on the people you interact with.
mymistake Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Nice poem. Bulling is a universal human problem. I don't have a solution to offer but bulling doesn't just affect kids. Adults bully other adults.
LifeCycle Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Well, that escalated quickly. I don't understand your comment. Pork chops/karate chops to suicide attempts etc... Poor attempt at humor on my part. It's a great video though. I posted it on my FB page. I see a lot of alienating stuff on FB and hardly any good stuff that teaches us to embrace each other despite our differences.

I had to listen to it again because it hurt a bit more than I expected the first time through it.
Jose Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I wasn't prepared for that at all... it was like getting punched in the gut.
R. S. Martin Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 That video says it like it is. To "get over it" one absolutely has to experience people who say "You're beautiful," or good, or something positive. Otherwise, you don't know it. What I don't get is that the girl who thought she is so ugly manages to be a good mother. She must not have experienced the ultimate put-downs by everyone in her life. Maybe only in school but not also at home.
