Testing scripture for truth

The Bible itself defines how religious writings are to be tested for truth:

1. Prophecies come to fulfillment with 100 percent accuracy (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).

2. Support the laws, precepts, and principles set forth in the rest of Scripture-without contradiction (Isaiah 8:20; Matthew 5:17; John 10:35)

3. Communicate only truth, in all disciplines of knowledge (Psalms 119:160; Hebrews 6:18)

Scotter playing skeptic:

1. Destruction of Tyre is one, not mentioning Jesus as the fulfilled Messiah (see Colosseum) - notice the emphasis is 100%

2. Paul said scrap the Law -> Paul is a fraud, but his letters are contained in the Bible

3. there are scientific experts in the area. I am merely mentioning the contradiction within the Bible - then they (the books and chapters) can't be all true. (see Colosseum Biblical Inerrancy thread)

Imbecile this is.

I agree with you, but I'd like to ask, can you back up the assertion that Paul was a fraud with some more detail? I haven't done that study myself and I'd like to see where you're coming from with that.

Sorry for the late reply Lloyd and readers. This morning I placed the thread and took off to work.

This is a substantial link on Paul:

Click on other article links on Paul and Christianity, religions.

Further scroll down and inquire on the religion pigeon holes.

That is excellent! Paul's amazing ignorance of the "canonical' Gospels is astounding. He quotes Jesus once: "It is better to give than to receive," (Acts 20:34-36) but nowhere in the Gospels does Jesus say this.

And in Acts 10, there's Peter's bizarre dream about eating what was once non-kosher, which is not necessary since Jesus made all foods clean in Mark 7:19.

Another great site is

which I picked up on the boards.

Well, in a rare bit of defense for Paul, the cannonical gospels were not written when he would have had to write his letters.

Man, gotta love Christians, five in the cylender, one in the foot.

If you go to the site given in the signature, there are some very good articles there, along with counter apologetic answers/

Enjoy
