Listen to the preacher -- if you don't like this country and its laws, feel free to leave it!

And don't miss out on this gem!  He has a running feud with the A/V guy:

Can't you just picture the day that the 'bouncer' of the church took Margee outside!!! zDuivel7.gif  I'll NEVER regret it!!!!!!!

I hope to NEVER allow anyone to control me like that again. I got anger running through my veins just listening to that fucking jerk of a human. Prick!!!

and yes...it had to do with my gay boy.......That was the end of me and church.........

Name one country better than the USA? Canada. But, then again, that is a very subjective question, isn't it? We would have to establish what makes America the best to begin with.

You're kidding?!  Someone from the church took you outside simply because you stood up to a dumb ass preacher?  Wow, just goes to show churches really are just like nightclubs in terms of who they allow in and who they don't, and they both have bouncers.eek.gif

I told this story a long time ago on ex-c.

My pastor and I had had a very serious discussion before I joined his church (''The Word of Faith'') about the fact that I had a gay son and if his church was into running down gay's, then I would not attend there.. He promised me that it would never happen in his church because his church was all about 'grace'.

One day he came right  down out of the pulpit as he incorporated into his sermon on sin, that Adam was meant for Eve and not for Steve. He was looking right at me. Wendytwitch.gif  I was beyond livid  zDuivel7.gif .....You know that kind of livid that makes your blood  pulse and boil in your veins to the very core of you? That was me that wonderful Sunday morning.

The sad part about it was I almost talked my boy into going to church with me that day. He almost came and changed his mind at the last minute. I told him that I now go to a church where they do not bring up the topic of homosexuality. I wanted him to hear the cool blues band I sang in.

Our church had a great big 'bouncer' that continually walked around the church to protect this arrogant, high flutin' preacher. He was a 'pretty boy' preacher with all the muscles and he thought he was so fucking cool. He used to walk right beside the pastor as he made his 'grand entrance'. It always looked soooo stupid to me. Anyway, I disrupted the service and asked him out loud why he was talking about homosexuality and reminded him of our agreement. The whole church stopped dead in there tracks when the 'bouncer' came and escorted me out of the church.

The pastor later called me at home and let me tell you, it was the beginnings of me starting to really speak up for myself. I did not put up with his shit and did not accept his apology. It was never the same.

I met him not long ago and he asked me to come to his house for supper??? I told him that we had nothing in common to talk about ...that I was now and atheist and he could have his imaginary Christian god. I thought my poor husband was going to faint. I very ignorantly walked away from him and his wife and went in to get my special coffee . I know they were stunned. The 'people pleaser' left me that day and  satans' child came forth!! firedevil.gif

I do not regret one second of it. Margee can be one bitch when she has to be......jesus.gif

No kidding.

I've never believed this country was the "greatest." I like living here, but I've lived in and visited many countries around the world. There's no such thing as a "greatest."

Just listening to that rant made me feel dumber, any longer and I'd forget that the sum of two and two equals fish.

A few questions I wouldn't mind hearing him attempt to address. By what standards makes the US the "greatest" nation in history? How do our problems compare with other countries? So what was Obama apologizing about other than "for America"? Because it sounds to me that he just thinks it is for the sake of hurting US pride, and the last I heard isn't being humble a Christian virtue and pride is one of the 7 deadly sins? (Proverbs 6:16-19). So the US never used force for unjust reasons, have you ever even talked with a foreigner and seriously listened to their concerns about the US?

Baah, why am I wasting my time. All I'm getting is rah, rah, rah we're the best there is and if you disagree with me gtfo.

'snip

That pasture was most likely sure he thought he could get away with that bullshit. Good for you Margee!

So we're the only country that has ever worked only for good? Isn't our government supporting Syrian terrorists?

I'm betting he doesn't like the new state laws on gay marriage. He can take his own advice and get out.

So, when are they leaving?

I hear Uganda still has friendly laws.

Hey, since they seem to hate the US so much, why don't they move to Iran instead? I hear it's lovely this time of year...

I couldn't stand to listen to the first guy's rants and I couldn't hear the second. This thread is very entertaining. Sounds like I didn't miss much in the line of vids.

Great story, Margee.

The real mystery is why anyone would want to listen to either of them.  Especially the second one.  Picking out people in church and commenting on them.  Who wants to be singled out in a crowd?

The first guy is just typical Baptist political ranting - all this pro US crap you wouldn't hear prior to about 1980.  Before then, it was all about saving souls.  Guess that's not so important anymore.
