Yep, the bible is the final word in all things so long as we can interpret, modify and disregard the parts that are not appealing...

Growing up my family lived across the street of a Seventh Day Adventist family. The mother would come over and try to witness to my parents. They'd get into this huge debate over biblical law, the new covenant, salvation etc...looking back it was just a giant circle jerk. They may as well have been debating their favorite Harry Potter character.

Even as a Christian I was perplexed at how Scriptural guidance on gluttony, divorce, etc. were so easily ignored by those claiming Biblical authority over everyone else.
