Oh How Awful Is The Lie

Oh how awful is the lie of the one and only son of god,

 

A lie I was told since I was a child,

 

A lie thats changed the face of this little blue world,

 

A lie that proves 2.1 billion people are still blind,

 

A lie thats so hard to leave behind,

 

But the lie goes on,

 

Growing their fear stronger,

 

But the lie goes on,

 

Growing the pain longer,

 

But the lie goes on,

 

And on and on.

Very nice. You could add verses for other religions, too.

I was going to make it a universal poem about all religions, but no other religion has fucked me up more than christianity, So ill write the poem about that.

Your poem is amazing! It brought to mind the hymn, "Oh the deep deep love of Jesus," which has the same tune as my favorite hymn, "Thy strong word did cleave the darkness." Such a melodramatic choice of chords in that one. I grew up an old-school Lutheran, so I still love some of the hymn tunes. Ah, the good old days of playing my trumpet in that giant sanctuary along with the rich pipe organ and people singing those deep tunes... Sigh.
