Burt_Lemur
It's common practice today for parents to video their kids' birthdays or any major life events and put them online for all to see. How could it be possible that the God character of the Bible wouldn't have thought to do this throughout all of Jesus's life, knowing how valuable the videos would be to us now? Jesus's life on YouTube, not to mention any events of the Bible including the Old Testament, would end so much confusion and conflict. God didn't foresee this? That makes him either an idiot or a blistering asshole, doesn't it? Of course, I believe the reason there is no "God's Videos" YouTube channel is because none of it ever happened, but I'm damn well going to start responding to any Christians in my face by demanding to see the videos and questioning why they're not available.

I first have to apologize if this is the wrong place to put this. I do think though God has a facebook channel, granted it may not be the same God you are asking about. http://www.youtube.com/user/stuffgodhates
MerryG
LOL, I love the thought and think it would make perfect sense for Daddy God to have recorded everything about Son Jesus (or anything else he wanted us to know and remember) in the technology of every age. But face it, we're talking about a daddy so neglectful he didn't even record the life of his son as it was being lived in the technology of that age -- scrolls, papyrus fragments, whatever -- even though Sonny allegedly hung out (and had the most dramatic moments of his life and afterlife) smack in his culture's literate center. Jeez, Daddy God waited decades before allowing some third-handers to scribble down whatever they wanted. :-( Guess Daddy didn't love Sonny so much.
Ravenstar
What about a Jesus App?
Thought2Much
What about a Jesus App? I wouldn't install that. I don't think it would have any privacy settings.
Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted September 3, 2013 Super Moderator Share Posted September 3, 2013 I've often found myself considering a question along the same vein: Why would Jesus spend his time casting out demons rather than getting a few educated people together and saying, "Look, there's this problem that sometimes occurs in the human brain; Dad fucked up the design. Anyway, it's called schizophrenia and I know this might be a bit ahead of it's time, but here's how you make a couple of different medicines that treat it." Wouldn't that have been more of a miracle than causing a herd of pigs to fling themselves into the lake because the demon Jesus just cast out had entered it?

Your oft asked question has a simple answer. These sky fairies do not exist in reality and only exist in the brains of believers. Easy peasy. I hope you will not need to ask your question again, except as a rhetorical device.
Reprobate
Why wouldn't an all-knowing god wait till now to send his son to save humanity? Everyone could catch his words and miracles on their iphones. There would be no doubt as to what he said. Doctors could certify the virgin birth. He could go on live TV and be broadcast all over the world. The resurrection could be proven. We could even ask him intelligent questions.
mwc
What about a Jesus App? I've uninstalled that piece of crap. It doesn't do anything it advertises and it keeps asking for money even though it claims to be free. I rate it a zero. Don't listen to the shills giving it fives. They're full of shit. Nothing will be fixed in the next release. They've been saying that forever. mwc
Burt_Lemur
I've really enjoyed everyone's responses. The more I think about, Christians would probably have a ready answer as to why God doesn't use YouTube. It would have something to do with their faith and that's all they need and God doesn't have to show them anything and all that crap. But I wonder how many Christians believe that Satan uses YouTube? I'm betting it would be a common Christian response that he does to spread his evil. So hell has Internet access but heaven doesn't. Another reason heaven sounds horribly lame.
deconverted
I am sure my former Christian friends would say things like: 1. God already has "proven" himself in nature (creation) and the built knowledge of him in our hearts. 2. People wouldn't believe it was really God. 3. God revealed himself in the Bible and sent his son down to earth and humans reject that...why would they accept youtube videos? 4. Even after seeing the red sea parted, mana coming down from heaven, and all the other "proofs" god did in the old testament for the israelites, they still rebelled against him and lost faith now and then. Why should god do one more thing to prove himself when we will just end up rejecting him anyway? Of course all these arguments have reasonable counter arguments that the Christian won't agree with.
Burt_Lemur
Those arguments are exactly what I'd expect. They hilariously depict the God character as being a childish sore loser who's whining and crying because he showed everyone his toys and didn't like their reaction, (which he knew before they reacted because he's omniscient), so he's pouting in the corner saying "to hell with you that want proof I'm not showing it to you pppfffffflllllpth..." Every day, from the moment I open my eyes, I am joyous to be free of this nonsense.
