Thankyou Ex-C!

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that I have been here a little over a year so I thought i would write this quick post to all at ex-c to say thankyou so, so very much for being there for me when my imaginary god bailed on me. Your very real support has made the last 12 months so much more manageable. Along with deconverting I am going through a divorce and battling bipolar disorder and fibromyalia (chronic pain) so the pressure has really been on.  I have support IRL for the divorce and health issues but you guys are all I have when it comes to support for the all the weird, infuriating or plain ordinary issues that come up as an ex-christian. You have also helped me feel less alone.

With so much going on in my life I really don't know how I would have managed the stress without this support so THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU!!!! yellow.gif

Anybody know where the bathroom is? I gotta go -- bad!

The Ex-c building is big. Go down the hall, turn left, take the elevator to the 19th floor, get off the elevator, turn right, walk down the hallway to the west wing, turn left again and it's right there to the left of the east wing!

Turning back to the

 thread now.......yellow.gif

Don't panic, I won't be encouraging you anytime soon. And I agree with Margee; leave this thread if it is making you sick. :P

Thanks again everyone. Appreciate the comments. They made me all warm and fuzzy, which is really nice on such a cold rainy day. smile.png

It's so great to know you, wanderinstar!!! You are fabulous!

I used to lament that I was stuck in "God's" wilderness of trial. Now, I love it here. It's not God's wilderness, and it's not a trial. It's life, and I am so pleased to be living it (and my deconversion) with you all!

I guess you guys don't know Fweethawt. He's an old old-timer, as old as the hills--or as the forums almost. He was a regular old-timer here when I joined in Aug. 2006. Back in his day, they spoke a different language than is common these days. I'm not sure what he meant by that line but I suspect it was somewhat different from what it was taken to mean. It just feels so good to see a "face" from the old days. And Margee's answer made me laugh.

This place has been very helpful for me too.  I de-converted three years before finding this forum.  But if you ignore all the people who were raised Christian and then began to simply ignore their former faith later in life, I've never actually met anyone who actively practiced Christianity and left.  I've certainly never met anyone like myself who converted to Christianity from another religion, and then returned.  And while I haven't found another such person even on ex-C, peoples' stories here are more similar to my own than those I meet in my daily life.  It has been helpful for me to converse with you all.

This place really is a sanctuary - and a bit of sanity - for those of us who are surrounded by all those crazy nutjobs for jeeezus in real life.

You're absolutely right!

You and Margee "GOT" the joke...

Instead of the often repeated mushy answers and ooooo's and aaaaawe's everyone throws into these threads, there's the occasional, random injection of off-the-wall silly comments that myself and a few others were known for.

It kept things interesting in that, most people weren't expecting it, and by the time one reads through the usual comments, by the time they got to the off topic, random comment, they would lose it and spit their coffee all over their keyboards.

So yeah -- thanks R.S. and Marg...

I'm not as "old as the hills" though...

Not sure where THAT came from..

Maybe as old as slightly elevated terrain. But that's about it.

I thought you might be joking, hence the face with the tongue pointing out, but I was unsure. As I don't know you well, and it is hard to tell tone from written communication, I guess I got a bit lost. It was a good joke too :)

Now that we're on the same page, why don't you just shut the fuck up?

Wanderinstar, you are one of my faves here, since we seem to think alike on many things. Glad to have you. Congrats on your anniversary!

As for the divorce and the bi-polar... that sucks. I believe, however, that ridding yourself of the burden of religion is going to make those other monsters much more manageable. Little consolation, perhaps, but at least you have some sanity in that part of your life. Have you found this to be true? Peace to you!
