Codein Based Cough Medicine Poetry

An opened end insanity

Echoes in my mind

With false spoken absurdity

Reason calm unwind

But ever spread intuitive

Waver in the dust

Unchanged by humanity

And scarred from the lust

Welcome to reality

This is yours and mine

Welcome to reality

Enter the mind of time

The thought of a parody

Slighted by the hand

Of soft spoken melody

And tainted sigh of man

Inside promise broken gone

But never waning trust

Apart from a sense of dream

Of burning oils and rust

Welcome to reality

This yours and mine

Welcome to reality

Enter the mind of time

To shadows of unspoken

A shifting paradise

Foreign shame and falsely blamed

Torn out from the vice

Treatment lies in blacked out eyes

And blue lipped velvet signs

Enraptured by the frailty

Wind crackling in the pine

Welcome to reality

This is yours and mine

Welcome to reality

Enter the mind of time

I don't know if the poem/lyric above makes any sense, but I have bronchitus and am taking a codein based cough medicine. For some reason, I had the need to type this. It's been running through my mind. At least I'm not coughing or congested anymore.

Wow. I liked that a lot. :) ...it should be song lyrics.

I'm totally hearing Hawkwind when I read this. Yeah, should be song lyrics. Write a melody to go with it. Not that it doesn't have the ability to stand on its own as a poem, but it does have a certain rhythmic quality to it that begs for a tune.

One $40 bottle of prescription cough medicine goes a long way. It definately has a lyrical feel to it, so I'll try writing a song for it.

Hawkwind, eh? I'll write it with a I/IV/vi/V format and see how it sounds.

another cough medicine induced lyric:

Burning in their filthy holes

Smell of rot and ugly trolls

Guarding all their sorry souls

Dipping down upturned roses

Spilling out their gushing noses

Seeing wither saying waiver

Toppled by the suffocater

Whistling like a dominator

Turning blue and growing mold

Here they come with their master

Whip lock chains move them faster

Choking on their feigned disaster

Crush the feeling butted batter

Tear the clothing light the cryer

Burning incense coals on fire

Left for dead turning higher

Whistling like a dominator

Turning blue and growing mold

If they come then they will go

And if they choke then they will grow

With a scene now withering

Into the flyer into the fire

Soon they will not even know

Gone is remembering too many things

Denying we are human beings

Tasting not what have we got

Burning in their filthy holes

Smell of rot and ugly trolls

Guarding all their sorry souls

Dipping down upturned roses

Spilling out their gushing noses

Seeing wither saying waiver

Toppled by the suffocater

Whistling like a dominator

Turning blue and growing mold

The first one was my favorite.

The first one has been recorded into a song. However, I'm thinking about adding a guitar part. The second one was written to accompany a song I'd already recorded an instrumental part for. Once I mix them down and convert them to .wav, I'll post a link if anyone wants to hear. I'm a crappy singer, so I'm putting my vocals through heavy effects (old Skinny Puppy style effects) but with a singing range closer to early Nephilim or Sisters of Mercy.

  • 2 weeks later...

I made the first one into a song and sang on the track while I had bronchitus. Keep in mind that I'm a bassist and not a singer or guitarist. The second cough medicine poem sucked, so I never did anything with it. Here is The Mind of Time:

ROFL

Sorry for my drunken post. What I MEANT to say was that I can buy this in my state because it is a C-V, meaning a controlled substance of the lowest level that can be bought over the counter with the pharmacist's approval when you sign for it. They also only allow a 120 oz bottle every three days or something like that. But in actuality, I only know of two pharmacies in Indianapolis that will do this because of the abuse problems.

Also, opoids are respiratory depressants.... so don't take it with other stuff that might also do that (like alcohol). At prescribed doses, you will be fine... but if you overdose on purpose to get high, it will be a problem. Constipation too. Just be careful.... but from what I know of you, I know you will. I was posting merely for those seeing this post and thinking "HOLY SHIT!!! I GOTTA GET ME SOME!"

I love opoids, but that's a different story. . . . My bronchitus is gone, so I'm done taking the opia-tussin.

I'm glad you are better! But you know , as the now non-pharmacy student, I needed to warn the youngins on the board that overdose on opioids will cause you to die if you are stupid.
