Onyx Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Fuck death, especially when pets die, when your cat is put down right in front of your eyes and you did not realise that he is gone until the vet informs you that he is gone.
Overcame Faith Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So sorry you had to put your loving cat down. I am sure it was tough.
Thackerie Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I have loved and lost several cats in my lifetime, and still have time to love and lose a couple more. You have my sympathy.
Moderator Margee Posted May 1, 2014 Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Oh Onyx...I'm so, so sorry. I've lost some of the most beautiful cats through getting hit by cars..i know how this feels and it sucks totally. Big *hug* hon
Kris Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So sorry-- losing an animal is so rough. But just know that you cat was loved until the very end and that is an awesome thing!!
ExCBooster Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Oh, Onyx - *hugs* - thinking of you today. I've lost pets, too, and it's always so hard.
Super Moderator buffettphan Posted May 1, 2014 Super Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 I'm so sorry. It hurts like hell to lose a beloved pet. My last cat died about 3 years ago and sometimes I still expect her to great me at the door when I come home. :-(
Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted May 1, 2014 Super Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 I raised rabbits, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, and chickens for many years and have seen hundreds of deaths. It never gets easier. My condolences.
FreeThinkerNZ Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Thinking of you. I've been there many times, it is very hard. Know that your cat enjoyed every moment of their life with you.
Guest afireinside Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I've befriended a lot of animals, some since birth and it's painful to see some put down, like the professor said it never gets easier. I cried when I had to take my Labrador to the vet to be put down a few years back, it's a hollow feeling.
violetbutterfly Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 It's such an awful loss. One of my dogs died in my arms. I'm so sorry you had to experience it.
Aries256 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Such a thing is always so hard to bear.
BundyJem Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! Give yourself time to grieve.
Fernweh Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 So sorry. I've had my dog put down and one of my cats died naturally. It's never easy but euthanasia is somewhat less traumatic than letting nature run its inevitable course.
Astreja Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I'm sorry, Onyx. Every pet is special, and they all leave empty spaces in our lives when they're gone. Sending a (((hug))) and a purr your way.
Onyx Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Thanks for all the thoughts, it's still not easy, but I'm starting to deal with this loss. He was wonderful but somewhat annoying, though when he wants to be with you, he was astonishingly special. He's deaf, like myself, he had the most beautiful white coat and he had such electric blue eyes. He was such a hungry cat, he would wake me up in the earliest hours of the morning just to have these biscuits. Of course, he only bunted my toes at that time. He often fought his sister and brother, but they loved him too, though. His sister is acting like him lately, putting herself at risk of going into the toilet and I even caught her sniffing around his grave which was bedecked with shells by my brother and my mother. Dumbledore, I will miss you.
Woodsy Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Sending lots of hugs....I know how this feels. We've had animals around us all our lives and, as each one leaves they take a little bit of your heart with them. But, oh the joy they gave us! Remember the joy......
