bfuddled Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 My dad runs a non-profit building supply business that funds the local free medical clinic. Today he had the police show up at the business and question his two employees who were working. A woman had just gone to the police station and filed a complaint that while she was using the bathroom at the business, someone had taken a picture of her (not sure of the specifics of how/etc). One of the employees confessed to it and the police took his phone. I'm sickened on multiple levels because of the possibility that this could come back somehow on my dad's business/reputation, even though he had nothing to do with it and fired the employee immediately. I am sick because this employee is the WORSHIP LEADER at a local church (he was a leader at OUR church, but recently started going to another church to take the lead positition). He has a wife and young child, and his wife is a sweet lady who I'm sure is devastated. I'm sick because this guy is constantly posting things on FB about how immoral and sexually impure non-christians are, which now makes a lot more sense to me, he was trying to avoid the feelings of guilt about his own issues by attacking others (projecting and/or reaction formation according to Freud). It will be interesting to see how the church he leads at deals with this. I hope they fire him, but all too often churches take a soft approach to stuff like this, citing "restoration and forgiveness" as the reason.
FreeThinkerNZ Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I agree, churches are way too soft on this sort of thing. The person he has offended against is the victim herself, not his wife or the church. To me, her interests and wishes should be paramount. I am glad the police are involved. I wonder how many other people were victimised. I hope they took his home PC hard drive. There could be child pornography on it.

I can't imagine how horrible that must have been for her. I would bet there are multiple other victims. I said to my husband that I personally would never allow him around my kids, whether or not child pornography was/is found. There's a line crossed when you get into fetishes/etc that involve violation/victimization of others that I believe would make it all too easy to take that step with a child.

There was a case like this in NZ a while back. The guy had been taking photos of women in restrooms and other places and he had a lot of images on his PC. There's a lot of pornography use among xian men. Sad really, that they are so repressed.

Post on his FB wall, "Hey, do the police still have your phone? " lol. 6
Aries256 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Not surprised, I bet recently said church leader was blabbering about "sexual immorality" lmao
Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted May 11, 2014 Super Moderator Posted May 11, 2014 If he ends up spending any time "inside", he'll find out exactly how "justice" works for men who violate women or children.
Ellinas Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 It's always struck me as good to be suspicious of those who shout loudest about issues of morality. And also to be particularly suspicious of a religious moralizer with a fixation on sexual matters. Their protests just reveal what occupies their minds. 2
RipVanWinkle Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 The idea of loudly attacking premarital sex, pornography, etc. while at the same time engaging in the same conduct is amazing. I know it's supposed to be a diversion of the culprit's focus on himself to others, but how can that make any sane person feel better about himself? The only answer I can come up with is that he believes his own lies. Amazing. But if one can fool himself by that method, imagine how much easier it would be to trick himself into proclaiming to the world that he is a believer, when he is not. He could even fool himself. Our brains are really tricky, aren't they? This could explain a lot. bill

I suspect it's not really believed by the perpetrator; it's just a cover to feed to the brainwashed masses who think this is an excuse for their "brother", should the acts be discovered.
